Guess which Slowpoke finally beat Y

As of today, I have beaten Pokemon Y. And yes, it has practically taken me almost an entire month to beat the game, whereas pretty much everyone else and their mom have already beaten the game eons before me. If it weren't for my insistence on EV training a whole team through Super Training early on, which probably took me the most time out of anything in the game, plus other things preoccupying my time, I probably would have beaten the game a lot sooner. Though I will say EV training has been very worth it, and I'm very glad that Game Freak included such a feature, otherwise I probably wouldn't have bothered EV training at all.
It saddens me to think though that in the next generation, Game Freak will in all likelihood just drop Super Training like so many other features before. Like the Pokegear/PokeNav/VS Recorder, Pokemon Contests (not the most widely praised thing, but many people still liked it), seasons and even gender differences by not including as many new ones as they did back with DPP. I argued before when XY was still in development that seasons would not make a return knowing how GF is, or at least not in the way as they were in BW, and a lot of people told me otherwise. But look at that, no seasons in XY. It seems all too likely with Game Freak that they will drop Super Training too, and it's a real shame, I really liked that feature. Pokemon-Amie I can care less about if it didn't return, and I can see Syvleon being retconned to evolving by friendship with fairy type move, though I also cannot deny that I really enjoyed Pokemon-Amie for what it was worth. Makes me also wonder how or even if they're going to 'keep' Mega Evolutions in the next gen.
But letting that slide and getting back to the main topic, I beat the E4 and Champion and can finally try out the Friend Safari, and maybe try to actively hunt for shiny Pokemon now. All of my friends have at least one except for me. Even with the easier chance of encountering one now, I still apparently have the worst luck with it.
Today is also my birthday, though frankly I could care less about it. Today is just another regular day to me.
