So once again, another Pokemon game is beaten. This time Black version, which I bought about a week or so ago.

And I must say, it was definitely a lot easier this time than it was in White. Though I guess that is a given, considering White was the first time I was playing BW, and it was essentially a blind run of sorts. That isn't to say that Black wasn't hard at times, and indeed it was, what with the superior AIs of both trainers and wild Pokemon. Their AIs were certainly improved upon from past generations... I can't say I was too thrilled having my level 26 Pokemon being KO'd by level 21-24 wild Pokemon... Seriously, I'm not really too fond of some of the changes in mechanics that BW had made, especially not the changes made to experience points... But for the most part, it was a lot easier this time.

My team, for anyone interested, was Samurott, Simisear, Rufflet, Rhyperior, Shiftry, and Gothitelle.

The Rufflet, Rhyperior and Shiftry were all hatched from eggs that I traded over from White version. Had I had easy access to Porygon in Diamond or SoulSilver, I would have used PorygonZ over Gothielle. Not saying that Unova has some bad Pokes or anything, but I wanted to use some different Pokes that were not the same as the ones I used in White. That and I'd rather use my favorites, and try out different species from time to time. Makes me wonder what sort of things I'll raise in Black 2 and White 2 in the future...

As for training my Pokemon to the mid 70's to face Alder like I did in White... Not so sure if I want to do that again in Black version, as it took a lot of time out of my hands and I'm not too sure if I'll be so committed to doing it again. Who knows, but maybe it might be a tad easier now that I have Black City to visit... hm. ...Or not, the trainers there have low levels.

In other news, I've also been doing a Nuzlocke run in Crystal, which I've been recording my progress in the form of a comic over at my DeviantArt and Smackjeeves. I don't think I'll be posting it here though, but I've also been considering doing a second Nuzlocke run in Pokemon Yellow in addition, which I may retell in the form of a fanfic instead of another comic. Maybe I'll post that one here in the forums, not quite too sure.

That's all.

And that took awhile actually, especially since I was in the late 40's when I had beaten the story awhile ago. Was able to then tackle the Elite 4 and Alder, and managed to defeat all of them and gain Champion status once more. It was a lot easier this time than the last time I fought the E4, being all underleveled and stuff.

Caught some legendaries too... and found all of the sages as well....

Okay, NOW I don't have anything else to do in it. =P

But I must say, I actually feel a bit proud for once. Every other time when I beaten the Elite 4, I was either around the late 50's or mid 60's, and never really bothered training any further. That's right, I've never owned a level 100 monster... So, getting to 75 was an accomplishment for me. =P But since I've done all there is to be done in White, I guess I still won't go any further than that.

Spoilers below, I guess.

So, just beaten N, that jerk Ghetsis and caught Zekrom in my copy of White version, and essentially beaten the game. I have to say though, I agree with what nearly everyone had to say, that BW does have a vastly superior story compared to nearly all of the generations....

So, just beaten N, that jerk Ghetsis and caught Zekrom in my copy of White version, and essentially beaten the game. I have to say though, I agree with what nearly everyone had to say, that BW does have a vastly superior story compared to nearly all of the generations. Sure it does recycle the usual formulas, but at least this game presented it and told it far better, and with a better cast. I must say that I am especially impressed that the gym leaders actually had a role in the game's plot, rather than serving as people who do nothing but sit around in their gyms, waiting for battles (except Cilan, Cress and Chilli, they did absolutely nothing).

Of course, genius me decided that I could take on the Elite Four with my Pokemon at levels 47 or so. How I managed to get passed all of them, along with N and Ghetsis, I have no idea. But I sure as heck used a heck of a lotta items.... Ugh, serves me right for being impatient and going through that hell. If I ever get Black version or the obligatory third version, I'll certainly have to remind myself to train more, as much as it pains my impatient old self. Seriously, I hate that. You get to the end of Victory Road, and your Pokemon are still way too underleveled to move on.

Oh well... Anyway, I've beaten it, and looks like there's still some stuff to do.

Into the PC you go, Zektaro. (No I didn't call it that, but thinking about it, maybe I should have.)

As you can probably guess, I've been playing a lot of it, in addition to other Pokemon games that I have been replaying lately.

It's obviously my first time playing BW, and so most of it is obviously a blind run of the game. My current team is kinda a bit of a mess, as it is mostly common Pokemon, or what I would consider to be 'common'. It's currently comprised of a Pignite, Pansage, Tranquil, Blitzle, and a Palpitoad. I think the sixth one will be Cubchoo. It's not exactly my ideal kind of team, probably because I rushed into it without really planning ahead. But in the same light, I don't really want to restart my game either. Actually I think it's because I actually wanted a copy of Pokemon Black and was planning mostly for that copy. But the game store didn't have any in stock, so, White it was.

Maybe I'll still get Black version in addition, and make a better team in that. At least in White I have access to White Forest, and therefore some of the Pokemon from previous generations.
