Let me tell you, If you were one of the English voice actors, do you expect to replicate Veronica Taylor's "Ash" voice? No. Its very hard and everyone has a different way of speaking. Even If Sarah would try and replicate Veronica's voice, It still wouldn't sound right. Only Veronica herself can perform that voice.

I don't know why people are grumpy about Sarah's voice acting. Sure It was bad in BF and some part in DP, but she's trying her best. In Best Wishes, she did a fantastic job. Noticed a improvement from DP.

i agree completely, i want to be a voice actor, and my friend Annie, at the pokemon meeting last night said and i quote, "i'm sure that at one time even Mell Blanc sounded bad, but he worked on it, and look at him now even though he's dead." Sarah is still young, (25 this september) and iI think that she's awesome. Veronica is awesome. They're all awesome in their own wys.

Well, civility is always important, but it should be tempered with honesty. To be quite frank, bad acting is bad acting. The fact that an actor is trying their best or has the potential to improve some day is irrelevant, they are still doing the work a disservice and ultimately a different actor would be preferable.

there is a point there, but going so far as to say "I want Sarah Natochenny dead!" is going too far. After all, we aren't able to force PUSA/TPCI to listen even if we want the change. I just don't like organizations such as SOVA being used as an excuse for death threats to a 25 year old new yorker, because it gives them a bad name and shames their cause.

You're reading too much into my silence, I just didn't have anything else to say. I had already addressed the need for civility, and I don't think anyone was arguing in FAVOR of death threats, anyway. This is little more than manufactured outrage.

not exactly, you see i happen to know people who have sent or tried to send Sarah death threats saying that Veronica would want it. By posting these blogs for people to coment on, i'm proving it wrong sinse they want proof.

Well, true though that may be, these threats can all be boiled down into two categories:

1. Hyperbole by fanatical fans with neither the intention nor the means to inflict actual violence.

2. Legitimate threats of violence which should be reported to the appropriate law enforcement authorities, so far removed to the fringes of mainstream thought that they do not merit the attention that civilized debate generates.

I'm inclined to agree with you. I just want to avoid other insadents like what happened to a former member - he and his family could not fly out of the Winnipeg Airport for about a year or two, and the family was supposed to go from there to Disney World. Though you can say this person had a no fly thing on him because one of the people at the pokemon meeting was a worker at the airport. pluss it's also a genuine "quit saying hurtfull things about the voice actors because it will accomplish nothing" kinda thread too. There is something that did make me think of posting this thread, but if i mentioned it, i would be not believed. put it this way, i came across "the top cat" in the Chicago Airport and even road on the same plane as her. PM me for more details.

Bashing does not help us give all members of the 4Kids and TPCi dubs equality: it only agitates TPCi further and makes it less likely for their return. Now, fact is, they do indeed deserve cameos just as much as so many others have been given. But bashing Sarah and the TPCi voice actors for the main characters will not help make the case any more valid: it'll make it worse. Death threats directed at Mrs. Natochenny? O_O. That's scary!

At the same time, I don't think there's anything wrong with having a little compassion for Veronica Taylor, Eric Stuart, and the others. Even if I can help them out 0.01% to get back on the anime in some form, I'm proud of myself. Because I care and I practice what Pokemon is supposed to teach you: to do the right thing. I'm a human being like any of these people are. They worked hard for me, and it's my turn to work hard for them and give them a chance to work on the Pokemon anime even one last time.

I honestly don't see how Ash's voice is that bad in this dub these days (yes, Taylor and the entire original crew are better, I agree with the majority of fans). Truth is, though, none of the current voice actors are bad: they all have good performances nonetheless-- it's just their voices are very different from the original casts and so it feels like an entirely different take. As for the original cast, after being replaced because of , I feel they definitely deserve a chance to cameo like so many other members of the 4Kids Pokemon dub have. It's wrong then, and it's wrong now. That's just me, though.

Dang, some people in the Pokemon fandom have the worst manners. I hope people have stopped being rude to Sarah. Her acting and portrayal of Ash may be different from Veronica's. But that doesn't mean people shouldn't give her respect. People should give Sarah just as much respect as they give to Veronica and the other voice actors. :)

I agree. Honestly, I myself really prefer Veronica, Eric, Rachael, and the others. It's just not the same without them...they were really awesome voice actors in my eyes. I loved the original 4Kids dub, so I was pretty much heartbroken when TPCi took over. The 4Kids dub was my childhood! I can never hate 4Kids the way other people do...I can't do it.

Regardless, I'm not going to do anything like sending death threats to a voice actor. I just re-watch the older episodes and enjoy myself the most that way. I'm thankful Sarah, Bill, Michele, etc. and TPCi are still dubbing the show for us. :)

This is why i highly respect Sova. They stand up for their cause, yet they're civil about it. if only organizations such as peta would follow SOVA's example.

I think some people just need to grow up.

Here's my advice for the TPCi dub cast to further improve like they have been in BW, IMO:

My advice for Sarah: Make your voice just a bit lighter, and pronounce Pokemon "Pok-AY-mon." Keep the yell you use in the recent BW eps, as it sounded more like VT's yell.

My advice for Bill: Lighten your voice for Brock in the cameo in BW116, please. You sound so much more better when you do that: it's incredible. Also add a tad of a rasp to it- very slight rasp, but a bit (this was literally the only thing you didn't match Eric's in BF).

My advice for Michele: Jessie is fine as is. Very close to Lillis. No problems at all. If you're going for equal to Lillis, drop the light pitch. Make it a bit deeper.

My advice for Jimmy: Lose the congestion issues as James. He sounds too muffled and annoying sometimes. If you can, you'd sound as good as Eric. For Meowth, make your voice lighter and cuter. It's too gruff now.
