speaking of the pokemon league...

Rate this Entry
I've noticed that many people don't like the battle Satoshi had with Kotetsu and/or Takuto. While its cool... I can't help but think....

AM I THE ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD WHO ACTUALLY LIKED THOSE BATTLES?!!

Please tell me I'm not the only one who doesn't hate those. Oh and please tell me I'm not alone in regards to Kotetsu actually deserving to win....

(Well, if I am... I'm all good :] )

I liked the Kotetsu battle (aside from select scenes and the fact that only 2 of Ash's Pokemon got wins); it's the outcome that I hated.

I enjoyed the Tobias battle. His mere existence in the context of the story was ridiculous, but it was such a unique and exciting way to end the league that I really couldn't care less.

I probably would have at least been content with the Kotetsu battle if it weren't for the unholy amount of stock footage.

Yes. Snivy put up a more interesting fight, yet they made the final match come down to Pikachu and Lucario.

As I've said in a few posts before, I liked the Tobias battle because I liked the fact that Ash was eliminated from the Sinnoh League by battling ubers. I think most hated the battle because they hated Tobias, due to his "cheap" tactics of spamming legendaries in the league - and ignoring the fact that the anime doesn't use tiers like we game players do for competitive play. While I may not have been a fan of exactly *how* Tobias entered the League - plowing through all of the gyms with just Darkrai - I still though that his introducing his character was a good way for Ash to go out of the league with a bang.

The deal with Cameron, on the other hand, was that I thought his battle with Ash had the opposite effect, in that it felt like Ash had completed the Unova League with a wimper. Cameron certainly wasn't the brightest competitor in the league, and he ended up knocking Ash out of the league with only five Pokemon against six on top of making a couple of rookie mistakes (even if maybe Lucario evolving made up for that). There are some fans who thought that that was a good way for Ash to lose, because they felt it was an accurate reflection of how he fared in the saga as a whole. While I can agree with that to an extent, I was still left cold about how Ash was defeated. The match did have its moments, though.

I agree and a gives a challenge. And because of that, I've wanted the anime to give trainers the opportunity to catch legendary Pokemon.

as for Kotetsu, I felt that he had a better party. though I liked how they threw in pignite to get rid of 2 of his pokemon.
