A Wrestling Blog: My Newfound Obsession With AJ Lee

If you saw Raw last night, you'll know that it was, well, quite dull. I'd go as far as to say that I would've rather watched NXT. But, hey, whatever. There was one segment that stood out to me, and one segment alone. That was AJ Lee's segment with CM Punk. I love her new character (a psychopathic ex-girlfriend for you losers that don't keep up with the product), and putting it with Punk is just pure, pure gold. I really hope that they turn AJ face or turn Punk heel and put the two together as the next big WWE "Power Couple". The last one of those we saw was Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, and we all know how great that was, so why not try again?
Also, AJ is one of the few wrestlers in the Diva's division that can actually wrestle. Judging by her older promos, she can talk pretty well too, and we all know firsthand how exceptional Punk is in almost every area of wrestling, so it would be great to put the two together. At least, in my opinion. And, imagine the possibilities of how far this could progress Punk's feud with Daniel Bryan, AJ's storyline ex-boyfriend. Just fucking great, people.
In other news, it appears that Ric Flair has been let go of his contract with TNA/iMPACT/Dixieland/Whatever the hell they are these days. This can only mean good things, as Ric certainly has some financial issues that he needs to work out, and he's not as young as he used to be. WWE also aired a vignette on their website, saying that a "Revolution" was coming on May 28th, 2012. Next Monday, actually. If you look closely, you can see someone that very closely resembles former TNA Tag-Team champion (and misused WWE star) Matt Morgan. This also can only mean good things. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Alex Shelly says he is not re-signing with TNA when his contract expires, which appears to be imminent. This can only mean horrible things for TNA. It also means the newest break-up of the Motor City Machine Guns, my current favorite tag-team in TNA. So, that's definitely a disappointment.
Since nothing much else has happened this week in wrestling (besides Over the Limit, and that's old news by now), I suppose I'll end it here. Follow me here on twitter to get more wrestling-related ramblings, along with other things I find entertaining.
