I got a proposition for ya.

So who wants to make a game with me? I can't code, but I have some ideas. For example, a classic-style JRPG with a cool twist. As of yet, the story's nothing special (currently it's "Save the four crystals of power", or some crap. I'll get that ironed out.), but the quest will really take a while. It'll be a long game, but it'll take years and years of in-game time. (I'm planning on 40-some gameplay hours, but by the time this game comes to fruition, that might be considered short. We shall see.) Plainly, a 70- or 80-year-old is in no shape to be a spiky-haired RPG hero. The solution? Genetics. Sort of inspired by the Social Link system of Persona 3 and 4, the characters can have social relationships, even resulting in having kids. Conversely, you can be such a jerk to your party-members that they leave entirely (I'm still tossing around the idea of having them and their families return as rivals. I dunno.).

So how's that sound?

Nice idea, I guess. Not quite sure I understand, but I like the thought of making it long. I'm tired of people getting a game, and finishing it within a week. I know someone who claims to have beat every Zelda game, but doesn't pay attention to anything but beating it.

Rpgmaker is a pretty good tool in making these kinds of games, for the coding-impaired. I think the legal software copies cost maybe like the amount worth a few games?

Yeah I'm not planning on having this as a first project, @33Whimsicott33; I wanna get a few games under my belt before I aim at something so big in scope as I'm planning on this being. Then again, look at Valve. I dunno.
