NYC Nintendo World BW2 launch recap

I was too exhausted yesterday and had something to do this afternoon, but here's my recap of the Nintendo World launch party from yesterday:
The BW2 event was my first time at a Nintendo World launch party. (the mall tour was the main reason I didn't make the first BW one) I got there super early, just after 11 pm to be exact because the first bus out of my hometown would have cut too close to the opening time and I would have been in a super long line. It was very crowded and it mostly involved being herded in lines once we were inside the building.
One guy had camped there for three days to be frist in line. He actually had some of his friends take turns holding each others' spots so they could go home once in a while.
One guy in front of me brought his collection of Pokemon cards, including the famous Base Set Charizard which he said he pulled from a pack. He even let me hold it! (I was gentle) Most people there waiting in line were college age or older, and only one middle-schooler. The very young kids didn't show up until the store's opening, and there were still very few of them. It was very fun talking to some of the parents who were also geeks/ fans. (my mom's an oldtimer who doesn't get geek fandom!)
The scarves they handed out were interesting, one side was black and had the B2 logo, the opposite was white with the W2 logo.
The store had pictures of some of the characters in the windows and around the lower inside. When they were about to open the doors, everybody started chanting "YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!" and I found it hilarious.
Once inside, they made everybody go upstairs if they were making a purchase, even if they weren't buying the games. If people did buy the games, they gave out a drawstring bag, a poster, a pouch they said was for the DS but looked like something to hide important documents like car registration and insurance, and a preview guide. Past the register, the line went around to the back to take pics with Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott mascots and look at the Pokemon memorabilia in the display cases. (people made the starters do the Gangnam Style dance, and they did it!) The store itself played the BW and BW2 soundtracks over the loudspeaker. When I was done, there really wasn't much to do except hang out.
People liked my Litwick cosplay. A bunch of other people were dressed up, and the mother behind me had an impressive custom airbrushed N shirt.
They plugged the event next Saturday at SIR stage 37 near the Javits Center from noon to 8. It looks that will be more large-scale.
Here's a small collection of what was around the store at the event, including some the swag I got there. (and I have absolutely no idea how to flip vertical photos on Imgur.
And here's a small sample of that preview guide we got. It interspersed a bunch of information that the majority of us already know, and the animated trailer in graphic novel format:
(By the way, in Black 2, right now I'm in Virbank with lv. 13 Psyduck, lv. 13 Lillipup, lv. 14 Mareep, lv. 13 Snivy, lv. 14 Riolu, lv. 13 Pidove in my party. I'm about to go into the complex to catch some more. I downloaded Dream Radar and caught a Munna; it takes a while to start showing clouds. I'm also about to trade a Rufflet I bred in the previous game to use on my main team.
