My take on Black and White 2

See what great storytelling can do? It can turn traditions upside down.
Before they were announced, and everybody thought there was going to be one Gray version, I pondered about how they would handle the deeper storyline and character development. Previous third versions were rehashes of the first two games, adding an extra villian plot and involving all three version mascots instead of one.
One third version would really retcon the canons of Black and White, which I think are on two parallel continuities. I previously expected a color choice for N's dragon similar to Lati@s in Emerald. ("I missed the TV report! What color was that dragon? Black or white?!")
Also, I figured, those that played the first Black and White would know all the plot twists and character developments and not have the same reactions as the plot demanded from them. Maybe the extended ending of one third version would have expanded on certain characters like Bianca, Cheren, and Team Plasma, but then again the whole Black City/ White Forest/ Opelucid situation would be kind of weird. (Gray Village? A futuristic city with a historic district?)
With these thoughts, I expected to see new player characters and rivals because it was unrealistic to make the same characters (Hilbert/ Hilda and the rivals) go through an entire gym badge journey again through the same region. All of us never expected the third version to be split into two sequels as the paired versions part 2.
Also, I'm guessing that the faraway land that N went to is the region from a future generation just so that they have an excuse to write him into those games.
