  1. I'm still euphoric...

My alma mater's football team (Rutgers Scarlet Knights) beat the Arkansas Razorbacks 28-24 after being down 24-7! And I was there! It was a blackout (where people usually wear red on gamedays) and the crowd was really into it in the 4th quarter. Rutgers returned a punt for a touchdown and it started from there.

Others said it was the best atmosphere in the stadium since they bet #3 Louisville in 2006! (and that was the epic game that put RU's program on the map, also a 17-point comeback) ...

  2. The awful price of dedication.

by , 30th August 2013 at 03:06 AM (Racing the Mind)
I just stayed in a bar until 3 AM local time just to watch my alma mater's football team play a game in overtime on the west coast and lose by one point.

I had to watch this game away from home because it was on a station that I don't get. The bar had stopped serving alcohol at 2 but stayed open until the game ended. I was also with a college friend who begged me to stay until the end of the game so we could have bragging rights to share with the rest of the fans.

Bonnie, a collie who looked like Lassie, aged 15 1/2. We got her when I was in 5th grade and she was my 4-H obedience project. She outlived all her peers in the 4-H club.

At least she died of natural causes. As a pro-lifer, I'm totally opposed to putting pets down. It's wrong to murder a friend who loves and adores you.

We still have another collie, a 5 1/2 year old white one with a brown head named Kelly. She's a ditz and always happy. She even was happy with Bonnie's ...

  4. Japanese eBayers are the nicest people...

by , 15th May 2013 at 10:01 PM (Racing the Mind)
So, I've recently gone on a spree of buying lots of Poke merch online, and a lot of them come from Japanese sellers. Most of those Japanese eBayers include some extras just to be really nice! Some people send little notes, others send packets of green tea or candy, and I've gotten random cards, TCG or otherwise, from others.

One extra card that a seller included was actually one I had bid on a few months ago but lost! I was surprised when I opened it.

    I'm going to post ...
