I was training for Drayden at 1:15 a.m. and about to retire for the night when I decided to level up my Serperior and Vaporeon because they were close to it. I KOed one Muk and was about to step out of the Route 9 grass when I found another one: SHINY! I threw a Quick Ball and caught it. (might as well save my Master Ball for a long struggle)

This Muk's a male, lv. 40, Jolly nature with Stench, holding Black Sludge.

The only other shinies I've ever gotten were the Red Gyarados and events. Coupled with the Pokerus I got in a trade earlier, I'm ecstatic. AASSDSDSDGHDSGHDSGHH.

I first played Pokemon in the year 2000, but never have I been this lucky!

Wait, I forgot my Vaporeon was poisoned after I left the Pokemon Center to check my shiny...

Sorry for the gloating, this has never happened to me before!

And I'm really glad this happened after I had access to more Quick Balls!

I was more excited about this game than any other Pokemon game, and I think it might have been a positive premonition instead of the standard new story and what happened to the characters and region.

Soo, anyway, possible spoiler comments...

Current team, all lv. 47: Vaporeon (Echo), Serperior (Whiplash), Magmar (Elizabeth), Rufflet (Wargle), Zoroark (N's), Lucario (Taco)

Juniper's not a troll; if you went to Route 7 and tried to enter Twist Mountain before the postgame, Marshall explains that the entrance suffered a cave-in from a landslide. It's safe to assume this was also a measure to prevent you from going to Icirrus City (Edit: especially because of certain items. Notably, the Creator trio's orbs are found there)
Challenger's Cave hasn't an explanation that I know of, all we know is that it was sealed in. Perhaps the game reason was to save space for the new areas...
Route 10 - Landslide which covered all of the old Victory Road and Route 10 below it. The implications might be far worse...

Actually, the Adamant. Lustrous, and Griseous Orbs are found within the Dragonspiral Tower, which is a little past Icirrus City.

And the developers can put these and other "exclusive" items in any part of the game that they choose. They moved around the locations of some of the TMs in the game, and they had done so for these orbs as well.

The developers chose to close off Icirrus City and have you go to the eastern cities in Unova instead because they wanted Marlon to be the eighth GL of B2W2.

Icirrus City (as the location of the seventh gym in the original BW) was between Mistralton and Opelucid Cities. That's also the reason why the developers reworked the entire Victory Road and Chasm Mountain, so that you had to actually pass through the cities in Eastern Unova in order to get there.
