You aren't sure what it means, but you did here your mom use it when she was shouting at the TV over the results of the last Unovan Idol winner.

Miraculously, it works! Your Oshawott has been nicknamed Cock Weed.

Damian asks if you want to battle. Now that you have a Pokemon of your own, he can finally reveal his own Pokemon.



You gasp internally, because you feel that a real gasp would be too weird. You don't know much about his Pokemon, only that he raised it from an egg he got a long time ago. Say, almost 5 years ago?
Every time you came over, he would always place the Pokemon in a PokeBall, so you could never see it. He really wanted to keep it a secret. Preseumably because he wanted to be mysterious. Or, more likely, to make sure you didn't purposely choose a starter that had an advantage to his.


He calls out his starter, Snivy. What a coincidence, it has a type advantage over your own Pokemon! Are you ready to battle!

You ask Bianca for another Pokemon. She reprimands you for your reckless actions, and demands that you pay Juniper back for that Oshawott! You won't be going on a journey, and it'll be a long time before you're allowed to see another Pokemon. Wait until your mother hears about this.

You decide to gloat over your victory. Damian calls you a cheater, but you explain to him that you only used your resources as a trainer. You also point out to him that he was trying to use a type advantage on a new trainer who was completely unprepared.

Damian: Without a Pokemon, I can never beat Team Plasma!

Damian unleashes his rage, lunging at you. You two grapple and fight, violently fighting. Bianca moves out of the way, and Damian forces you to the railings. He pushes you off, but you're going out, you're taking him with you.


You both fall of the look-out, and fall to your apparent deaths.


You blink, and find yourself in front of Damian and Bianca. Damian asks if you want to battle. He calls out his starter, Snivy. What a coincidence, it has a type advantage over your own Pokemon! Are you ready to battle!

You have Cock Weed back to Bianca, and pick Tepig. After all, your rival already has experience with Pokemon. A type disadvantage would be too unfair.

You look back. Instead of a Snivy, he has an Oshawott. It's not Cock Weed, you can tell.

Turtle: I thought you were battling with Snivy?
Damian: What are you talking about? I don't have a Snivy...

You decide to go for Snivy. Once again, you look back at Damian to find him with a new Pokemon. This time, Tepig.

D) Run

Aw, hell naw! This asshole purposely chose to battle you, knowing he had the advantage. How 'bout giving him a big 'fuck you' by pushing him down the steps and running away?

You do exactly that, and run like heck. Unfortunately, two vines wrap between the railings and trap you.


The poorly-drawn Snivy wants to seek vengeance on you for attacking his trainer. Looks like the only way to get past it is to battle.

Turtle: For what?

Damian doesn't explain. Instead, he walks off, Snivy cradled in his arms.

Bianca congratulates you, then takes you to the Pokemon Center to heal your Cock Weed. So far, your first day as a trainer has gone well.

Theme

In Chargestone Cave, a green-haired man opened a PokeBall, releasing a Ferrothorn from his ownership.

Man: Thank you, my friend. Return to the peaceful life you lived before.

Another man clad in weird clothes looks confused. He asks the man why he's releasing his Pokemon. "Lord N..."

N: I can't...I can't keep Pokemon confined in Poke Balls! Also, if they stay with their Trainers, Pokemon will battle, and they will be hurt...Even if it is for changing the world to protect Pokemon...It's too hard for me to put them through such pain...

But...Trainers catch and battle Pokemon. Isn't that just how the world works?

N shakes his head.
N: Who decided that catching Pokemon and making them battle each other is how the world works? That wasn't how things were before Poke Balls were invented...The rules that govern this world are wrong!

The other man agrees, and decided to release his Pokemon, too. But N tells him that it's not time yet.

N vows to separate Pokemon and humans. If Pokemon are to be saved, they must be removed from their oppressors.


N: But...Why did those Pokemon seem sad to leave me? Jack! Is it because of that Trainer that my heart wavers now?
