Teerunaa's feminine design

The people complaining about Teerunaa (Fennekin's evolution) looking feminine annoys me a bit. Really, what is wrong with looking feminine? Nothing, I say. Also, there are only Meganium that looks slightly feminine, it is nice to have a new starter with such characteristic.

The very concept of dismissing Pokemon as too feminine or masculine (not that the latter ever happens, of course) annoys me to no end.

And still I just don't see how Fennekin itself looks any less "feminine" than the second form.

I'm not really fussed by it but just from looking at it I really think it looks good

I want to know what's with the stick in the tail. I like the look, looks both elegant and strong. I assume this theme will carry over to the last form, so I expect something slender, elegant and badass.

Also I can already tell it'll be a Rule 34 bait to the max.

I just can't picture it being male wouldn't be surprised if it's gonna be the first one gender-only starter.

It's just not a design I like I guess. I expected something totally different (especially when I heard it was going to be bipedal) and as such was disappointed.

I see no problem in it being male. There are tons of male human beings that look feminine.

Also, Meganium can be male, so does Lopunny and Gardevoir. Teerunaa won't be the exception.

@PixelPerfect; I think the stick is supposed to be a wizard/witch's wand.

    @Reila

I swear its mainly the dudes complaining about it me myself not being one of them. I just hate that everything has to be overtly macho and buff in order to be considered cool for some people : /

I LOVE Teerunaa and his/her feminine appearance, sucks for the others who can't seem to look past these gender stereotypes.

Exactly! This western way of viewing genders is annoying and people seem to forget that Pokémon is a Japanese series. What is considered manly there is far from that Vin Diesel muscular bald dude stereotype.

That's true. And while it looks like it has a dress, Simipour has a dress too and can be male too.

Still don't like the design though. I had hope Fennekin would become an option for starter again to me, but I guess I still won't pick it then.
Or its final evo will completely change my opinion.

EDIT: And I don't like either gender-obvious Pokémon. I don't like Pokémon that are overly male (buff, overly muscled, such as Machamp, Conkeldurr and others) but also not a fan of Pokémon that look too feminine in my eyes.

I see. Well, there is nothing wrong with your preferences, I'd like to add. Well, as long as they aren't based on prejudice (as they don't seem to be).

Maybe I'm just too harsh in my opinion for now I'll see. Most new Pokémon really need to grow on me for some while (the gender cats too)

I am a guy, but that middle evo makes me want to use Fennekin, if I wasn't choosing that Speed Boost Torchic for my Fire type.

I don't find it bad for being feminine. I was hoping for quadruped fire starter though.

I don't like it being feminine. I don't want to spend hours soft-resetting for a female Fennekin, because I don't want a male Fennekin that ends up being a pretty princess.. It's bad enough I already have to soft-reset for natures.

The other two starter first stages are arguably "masculine," so I am fine with Teerunaa being "feminine."

Teruna does look feminine, but this is coming from someone who has a Male Mienshao in his Black 2 team, and that's considered a rather feminine Pokemon too, same can be said for Gardevoir and Lopunny.

Also, is it just me, or does Teruna remind me a lot of Renamon for some reason?

Really, Serperior always looked more like a male Pokemon to me, and so does Ninetales.

@Robo-Floatzel; He does remind me of Renamon as well, which is a good thing. If he evolves into a Taomon-like Pokémon, then he might even become my favorite starter Pokémon.

I like Fennekin and it's evolution, but I think I might not get Fennekin/Teerunaa (or just get one on the GTS), mostly because of the Speed Boost Torchic.

On the other hand, I'll use Froakie/Gekogashira. I'll use Teerunaa when I want.
