Guys, if you've got the time/knowledge could you please help me figure this out?

Yesterday, I suddenly developed small red spots on my limbs (pretty sure it's not meningitis, I checked). I thought maybe I was allergic to something and stopped using it, I woke up this morning with the spots still there and a sore throat, wondering why my family were staring. I ended up looking in the mirror, my face is flushed bright red for some reason... Maybe it was the heating? But the red spots are a bit of a coincidence...

I've never had this during the winter before, I'm so perplexed. Has anyone ever had this reaction to something or other before?

Do you feel okay aside from the spots and sore throat? The body is a strange beast and this kind of thing can happen almost without reason, and you might never be able to pin down exactly what causes it.

If it's affecting your whole body, it could be something that you've worn, something in the water supply, or maybe in the air that has caused some kind of allergic reaction.

I have to say that I'm a believer in the body best being left to heal itself rather than trying to pump it full of pills and medicine to do its job for it, unless of course it's something which the body can't handle by itself (I shan't get into details on what I think about this here!).

Unless you start to feel worse, I'd suggest just drinking lots of warm drinks for your sore throat and maybe suckin' on a Hall's Soother (or getting some naked muscle hunk to kiss your neck) and see if it goes away (also if there happened to be some kind of new soap or clothing or something that you used then don't use it again).

If it's still there at the end of this week or you start to feel worse, then I'd call your local GP and ask for an emergency appointment (because as we know, if you don't call it an emergency they won't see you for 4 weeks).

Hope you feel better soon! <3

(Not sure if I should put some kind of disclaimer about how all advice above is given without any kind of -recognised- medical knowledge, and any death or injury that results is in no way my fault! But I'm hoping you'll just report later that everything is fine anyway :3)

Hey there!! hope you're feeling better.

I've seen red spots on my little sibblings caused by a new soap they were using, but it was just the red spots not the sore throat nor the blushing.

*Nod* You were right, as you know, it was an allergic reaction. Thanks for posting! *hug*

Much better, thanks. =) Turns out it was an allergic reaction to lymecycline (I was taking antibiotics and had quite a late reaction). I've been off the forums for a couple of days since I was given antihistamines to counteract it and they've made me both really sleepy and really dopey, but I'm back now! Thanks for commenting! *hug*
