Fan Theory: Cocytus

a theory just hit me, i, of course, wanted to check it, and share it with you, it may not be the best idea ever but here it goes...

''when GenV was announced, people constantly brought up the question: ''they Created a God Pokémon [Arceus], how will they top that? (even thought they don't need to), many people joked about the idea of a Devil Pokémon, as to oppose Arceus, that got me thinking... what if they DID create a Devil Pokémon, and what better place to hide something than in plain sight?, --Kyurem, you may ask yourself - why would Devil be Icey??, i'll turn your attention to Cocytus, the ''Frozen Hell'' of Greek Mythology, but then you'd ask: ''why Kyurem?", and i'll answer, think of it like that, what is known about Kyurem? that he came to the World in a Meteor, and he eats people, however, the last information, appears to be wrong; so if it IS wrong, why would such Legends be created by the People of Lacunosa City? maybe they were trying to make the player stay away from Kyurem...

also, about the God Stone, an item programmed into the game, what if it refers to Arceus? what if the ancient people of Unova knew of Kyurem, and created the stone as a foil to it? and also, about Kyurem's story again, it came from a Meteor, but... what if it WAS the meteor? and was inteded to destroy Unova, but Arceus Stopped it? Wait... Arceus Stopping a Meteor? Sounds eerily Familiar...

i also realized that Kyurem looks somewhat like Dante Alighieri's Representation of Satan in Cocytus, also, in the Divine Comedy, Satan Gnawed on people who were sent to Cocytus on different parts of their bodies for the different treacheries they commited, now why does Kyurem look ''broken'' all over?

and if it was sent to ''Cocytus'' for treachery, it would explain why it freezes itself while using his powers, Ice is not its natural Power, it may have adapted, and gained the Ice Type in captivity, also, if he did betray ''something, or someone'', wouldn't that be analogous to Lucifer?

also - look at Kyurem's Tail... oh, three pointy ice prongs! wait - three pointy prongs? - Devil's Trident''

So... what's your oppinions about it?

I count two icy points on the wings. Oh, and lol, I always thought Empoleon was up to something :3

oh yeah, sorry for that, i meant its tail, its wing has only two, fixin'

    i'd take Empoleon's prongs as Poseidon's, but whatever ^-^

No offense, but its stuff like this that makes fan theories sound stupid.

Arceus is a creator deity, there are many creator deities, and the Christian God has the least similarities to Arceus than any other. Three is also a very important number in a lot of myths, how are three points on a tail suddenly equivalent to three points on a trident despite the shapes being nothing alike? Poseidon also owned a trident, why is it the devil other than to fit your theory?
also, about the God Stone, an item programmed into the game, what if it refers to Arceus? what if the ancient people of Unova knew of Kyurem, and created the stone as a foil to it?
The stones were the Pokemon in dormant form, Arceus already existed, how could people have created the God Stone?

and he eats people, however, the last information, appears to be wrong; so if it IS wrong
What exactly seems wrong about that last part?

i've never seen Kyurem on Lacunosa City, but i might be wrong

i also only used it to relate it to my theory, it could reference it, as far as we know

i know, i don't personally believe on it, but that's up to me, but i think it could be used as a reference.

It could also reference a three-pronged plug, but if you're going to make a claim for something, you have to have something better than "We don't know and you can't prove it wrong so there". after all, you're the one with the theory, you're supposed to prove your point, not the other way around, otherwise what's the point with this endeavor?

I could claim Kyurem is from Deoxys' planet because they both came from meteors, and you have no evidence to the contrary, it doesn't mean its correct

Is that honestly what you're going to bring up every time a claim of yours is being refuted? If so, then let's just stop the discussion here, otherwise, I could point toward the many myths of world-eggs. then point out that the universe according to the bible, did not come out of such an egg, nor did its creator. It's creator always existed, Arceus on the other hand came out of an egg and brought order to chaos, which is a lot of creation myth out there except Genesis.

There is such a thing as grasping at straws you know, which is what most of your 'connections' are.

^^ i was saying i did not believe in the Christian God

and i know i'm grasping as straws, i just made a theory and got some connections, as little as they are, i just liked it, i'm not really trying to prove my point that all of those similarities obligatorily mean there is a connection, i just think they could relate, i'm not trying to say they are an undeniable fact :(, which it'll never be.

In Greek mythology the cocytus was nothing more like than a river like the Styx.

well i can see that how it could be related to teh Devil if they were going to make a counter to arceus but also rememebr that they r also copying the real world. Creation Vs Evolution but in Pokèmon its a simple solution: a mixture of the two
