LOTS of art for these two. Apparently there are a lot of people who love these vulpines. And a few who really, really love them. As in, I had to see a half-dozen totally unique pictures of Ninetales in a bikini. And a few without.
...Yeah.

37. Vulpix

Form: 7. Chibi-fied body proportions? Check. Bouncy curls of hair? Check. Freaking big-ass, irresistibly cute eyes? Check. Vulpix is a plush toy dream. The story of its tails dividing from one from birth is interesting. It has all the makings of a girl's fantasy pet.
Color: 8. The fiery red and deep crimson look perfect. The eyes are a soup of different reds. and the differently-colored paws are a good touch.
Originality: 6. Sure, it has six tails and other details (see what I did there), but in the end it's just a cute, frustratingly adorable fox.
Design: 7
Favorite Renditions: Nadou, JoshD1000, EchoGreens, RtRadke, Petah55, altered-worlds, salanchu

38. Ninetales

Form: 8. Exuberant, luxurious, voluptuous. Ninetales flaunts its nine tails like a gown. In game sprites, it's been used in the form of a throne, a sign, and as prehensile arms. No doubt it's gorgeous, but its plain body and head hinder the score.
Color: 6. Not bad, but unimpressive. It's virtually the same cream color throughout, save for the tips of its tails. Darker colors on its chest and head fur would have helped. The red eyes hardly affect the score.
Originality: 7. The legend of the kitsune is well-known, even to non-Japanophiles. They have powers of illusion, longevity, fire, apparition, and transformation. Ninetales is a beautiful adaptation of the famous myth, into a character all can understand.
Design: 7
Favorite Renditions: hibbary, Retki, Twarda8the8XanaX, SoupAndButter, joshD1000, ClaireLyxa, MiMiGoupix, shazy

My apologies, I speak a Californian dialect. To us, big-ass is an adjective meaning "very large." The hyphen should have indicated that. I meant to say that Vulpix has very large, cute eyes.

But now that you mention it...
