Anyone know about the N64 Hori Mini Pad?

So apparently a little gem called the Hori Mini Pad was released as a third-party controller for the Nintendo 64 toward the end of its career. As you can see, the controller is very different from the standard trident N64 controller. The start button is a small, rubber button, the D-pad is smaller and in the center, the joystick is larger, more comfortable, and more durable than the original, the L/R buttons are smaller, and the Z-trigger is now two Z buttons you can press behind either L or R. I have yet to try a Hori myself since the things cost upwards of $60. I once tried to buy one on eBay I saw for $30, but lost the bidding once the other guy went past $40. So yeah, it was still relatively a good deal, but unlike most people today, I know what money's worth.

So my question is, do any of you own or have used a Hori? How is it? And if not, what do you think of it?
