My motto (?)

Last January, when talking about New Year's resolutions...
My father wrote this with a marker on my schedule diary that he bought for me.
It means 'tolerance' or 'endurance'.
If I am not mistaken, the top is the Hanja/Kanji that means 'sword' and the bottom means 'mind' (as in 'spirit', 'heart', 'thoughts').
There are many ways to interpret it. A person who holds the sword should have 'patience' to be careful with it, or keep his mind calm even when facing a sword, etc...
Anyways, I like this 'IN' (how it is pronounced where I live).
I think I can understand why my father wanted me to learn it. Just until last year, one of the most important things I did lack was-rather than above words- patience.
Since I entered college I decided to grow some patience, putting all that "You can't change your nature" aside. Even a little bit would help.
(...okay, I admit it. I wanted to add a blog to get rid of that number 13 next to my "Blog Entries". I just hate seeing that number!)
