So today we heard that a loyal family friend and retainer passed away during a short journey to hospital.

I can't say that I'd ever really talked to her much, and only actually met her a couple of times, but she has been looking after the older members of my family for as long as I can remember. From my aunts, to my grandparents and more recently my great aunt, she's always been around to help people out when they've needed it.

She retained her faculties and was still driving around to see people, sending out Christmas cards every year and remembering birthdays even up to the age of 90.

In a way, it affects me more than someone I know well departing, because I really never got to find out that much about her, aside from the fact that she seemed to live to help others.

Up until a couple of months ago, she'd retained her health and never seemed to slow down, and the news came as a surprise to everyone because it felt like she was going to outlive us all. Maybe she finally gained enough experience to evolve into her higher form, while we are left here to exist within our base form bodies until we come to understand what is important in this existence.

I hope that I will be remembered as fondly, and enjoy an easy and painless passing into the higher state of being when my time comes.
