Many people are constantly asking me, why would anyone put a gym in Odale Town? That town in the boonies of Hoenn? Well, you could say the same for Lavaridge as well. Besides, trainers from all over the world stop at Odale coming from Littleroot anyway. I figured, heck, might as well give them a choice whether to start off thier gym quest early.
So, anyway, I was finally able to get the permit to build a gym from the Pokemon League. Let me tell you, it wasn't easy, particularly for someone of my age. Sure, I could have easily gotten the job back home in Fortree, but I knew Winona really wanted it. Besides, at the time, I was more interested in traveling. Now that I have traversed Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Isshu, I figured it was high time I settled down and realized my goal of being a gym leader.
Winona sure has been a great help getting the permit. I guess it's because we've been great friends since elementary school. She and Birch were able to pull some strings in League HQ for me to help me along. Financially, building the gym will be no problem. I was able to use my winnings from all the tournaments I've won, plus the town helped pay for some of it as well.
We just opened it yesterday. So far, no trainers have come to challenge me yet, but only time will tell. Until then, I'll keep writing in here just to keep my thoughts organized. See you next time.
