Ann Romney's Speech

I liked it. It felt a little awkward at times, and her voice inflections didn't always fit, but nothing ever felt forced (except for the first couple of sentences, which I suspect were last-minute improv).
A woman who has overcome breast cancer and is battling MS? Say what you want about Mitt's money, but if you think Ann has led a privileged life, I think you're giving money way too much credit.
As for her characterization of Mitt, it was good, but probably could have been a little better. She was very abstract, but that might prove to have been a smart move, given the current political climate. Lately, describing any event with specific details opens you up to intense scrutiny - and if you don't describe it perfectly, you'll be ripped to shreds.
Here's hoping this magnificent woman isn't hit in the pundit crossfire over the next few weeks - I really can't find anything to fault her on, but I suppose I lack the motivation to find fault with her as well. I'm not emotionally invested in the notion that she and the party she spoke in front of are inherently evil. I sincerely hope that both she and Michelle are treated with the utmost civility regarding their respective convention speeches.
Perhaps these two inspiring women can go a long way toward softening the harsh rhetoric of this election by reminding us all that behind the politics, there are people, and that if we're truly honest, we're not all so different.
