today im doing three pokemon scyther and scizor and pinsir. they will all be judged individually even though two are related.

Scyther: no doubt about it is my favorite pokemon bug or otherwise. its mean looking and is based off a cool creature to begin with. its on the upper tier of speed and attack for bugs. and again like all first and second gen pokemon he was shafted by the lack of bug type moves.
and until x scissor couldnt learn a good one without breeding. but he has always had a good arsenal of ulterior moves he could go to. and he is immune to earth type moves.
as a personal bias i give scyther a 9 out of 10

scizor: the out of the right field bleachers evolution to my beloved scyther. he is perhaps my favorite added evolution pokemon next to froslass. but the loss of his immunity to earth and 4x damage taken by fire hurts him greatly. but poison immunity helps a little. scizor does have a bit better move pool to pull from but thats not really a factor
scizor gets a magical 8 of 10

pinsir: the pure bug powerhouse who has dozens of moves that can legitimately be placed into his moveset. then u look at megahorn and guillotine as a great power combo.
he is perhaps the best pure bug in the game and really doesnt need an evolution even though some of us would like to see that or link them with heracross with a baby, but that is something for another day
7 out of 10

Another look into the original bug roster brings us the original bonafide poison/bug combo. In the beginning i shied away from them because it was all about a harder to get safari bug for me. But with the awkward looking bugs that came out in later years and the creation of x-scissor and incredible poison moves to add to it. up till Escavalier he had his own move in twinneedle. His stats are rather mundane thanks to being one of the firsts. he has a slick intimidating design and if you read pokemon stories or watch the anime they are always good for comedic relief.
6/10

Paras/ Parasect
the first of the unique typing of bugs at grass/bug with an above average attak and sp. def. he always had the great ability to use strong grass attacks but yet again didnt become a great bug type till the influx of bug moves like every other original.
but they got a boost with the ability to use several move types. early accessibility make them great additions to a team that started with squirtle or charmender.
7/10

feel free to give your opinion id like to hear from u

I Liked what rusty shackleford had done with the fighting pokemon that i decided to do it with the bug pokemon.

I will be going in order for the most part and will bring a new one up at least once a week if not twice depending how i feel.

So lets kick things off with the original bugs caterpie, metapod, and butterfree.
Who doesnt love these originals, easy to catch easy to train levels up real quickly and over the years they have just gotten stronger. with the additions of new moves like silverwind, bug buzz, and quiver dance that make them that much more likable.
Their stats are fairly average but their abilities compound eyes, and tinted lense, keep them in the hearts and teams to this day.

overall as the original butterfly and the very first bug pokemon ever i give then a rather sturdy 7 out of 10.

But i just do not get the step back in game play, or the lack of depth of Pokemon.

I know there were a ton of side areas in the new games in order to beef up ones levels but i do not get the rather linear game play. I mean u have 8 gyms in the first 9 routes, u cant even reach half the region without beating the elite four. And that half of the region is then overstuffed with previous generation pokemon. So much for new region start over. This was perhaps the easiest of all the games to beat the elites and champions twice.

Next is the pokemon. There were a ton of great pokemon created, with awesome new type combinations (drk/stl, ghst/wtr, bug/elc) and incredible designs. But i feel this region is stuffed with overused triple stage evolutions. pokemon who look and sound ridiculous (garbage bag, ice cream). if they truely wanted to stick with there no old pokemon statement they should have enlarged the region and added 50 or more other species of pokemon.

Not to say i didnt enjoy playing them, because i really did. but if u placed this among the previous games its my opinion that these games are by far the easiest to play. :banghead:
