#559: Scraggy
Scraggy and Scrafty are interesting Pokemon. While I like them and think they're silly, I don't think they really look that good. It's not the pants either. The pants are what makes them funny and clever. It's just about everything else about them that I don't like. Scraggy looks mostly fine. The feet and tail are fine, and the baggy pants/molt which covers the bottom portion of Scraggy is the only feature which makes the family interesting. Scraggy's chest is fine, with the red stripes, and the arms are basic. The head is where Scraggy fails though. The eyes are really bugging out, and they're in weird positions on the side. I realize that Scraggy's supposed to be a lizard but it still looks weird. The mouth is what really looks weird though. I really dislike the line that goes around Scraggy's face, and the fact that the mouth ends at that line is just awful. The shape of the mouth looks weird too. I didn't like it on Croagunk, I don't like it on Scraggy. I don't much like the single strand of red on Scraggy's head, although I get that it turns into Scrafty's mohawk. The divide on Scraggy's head between the cream color and the yellow color is really what makes Scraggy so bad. There had to have been a better way of doing this, as is it looks like Scraggy's head is some kind of nesting doll or cookie jar. I really like the Scraggy family, I like the design influence and the whole silliness of Scraggy, but I really think that it could have been designed to look a little better.

#560: Scrafty
A lot of the issues that Scraggy had have been more or less solved on Scrafty, but as a whole Scrafty still doesn't come together. Scrafty's lower portion is mostly unchanged, which is fine since this was the only good part of Sgraggy. Scrafty's feet are now slightly more detailed, they look wider and more elaborate, though still under the baggy pants. The tail now has a small red thing on it like Scraggy's head has. I don't really like this, though it doesn't really look bad. Scrafty's chest has different colors: the backing is orange and the chest plate is a dark grey. The hands are unchanged also. Scrafty now has a frill around its neck which resembles a hood from the back. This looks a little strange on its own, but it goes along nicely with the pants. Scrafty no longer has the dividing line going around its face, which brings it up a lot, but even so the mouth is unchanged, which still looks bad. The eyes may even look worse now that Scrafty's eyelids are half closed. The mohawk, however, is very cool, a large improvement over Scraggy, and a nice way to round out Scrafty's punk attitude. With the baggy pants, the hood, and the mohawk, Scrafty is the Pokemon embodiment of a stereotypical '90s punk. While a large improvement over Scraggy, Scrafty still leaves much to be desired.

Thanks for reading! While there's no more requests lined up, I think I know what I'm doing next. I should be starting it soon.
