A disgrace to character design

As I see it, these new Pokemon megaevolutions are an absolute disgrace and disregard for past character design. Much moreso than evolutions of old Pokemon, and while I'm neutral on that I know that it raised heck with some folks in gen 4. But on to the point here; you just don't fix what ain't broke, Pokemon.
Now I have friends who absolutely love Blaziken and Lucario just the way they are. Without beefy appendages and "cool factor" goodies pasted onto them. This whole idea is not only far too unexpected and rash, but its messing with Pokemon that people ALREADY adore. What is the point of that!? And at what cost is this venture!? Even though some will worship GF for this, I'm quite sure there are a great many others who share my sentiments and are greatly displeased about this. And guess what? I bet they'll be labeled as genwunners/nostalgia goggles who refuse change! Its an outrage. I get Pokemon's need for freshness. But I am one to believe that there is a line and Pokemon crossed it.
Bottom line; I am tired of GF messing old favorites without warrant. Know this; I refuse to love Pokemon any less or not buy X version, but its because I love it that I cannot turn a blind eye to when they do something I feel is completely wrong. Yes, I know its temporary "form changing". And while Gamefreak might be doing this to appeal to older fans ,which they absolutely should keep in mind, to me it seems they're doing it so radically that they miss the bigger picture. How is it hard to see that old Pokemon are loved because they are (typically) unchanging? This feels like an insult to the Pokemon designs as much as the fans. One could even say its a marketing ploy to stuff more "coolness" into Pokemon. It is cluttered, unnecessary, and utterly shameful.
Forgive me for the rant, I'm not trying to force this on anyone but I hope you guys who read this will put yourselves in my shoes and understand what I'm saying. I swear if I wasn't tied up with a new job and my commitment to SOVA, I just might do a campaign against this. I will of course, support any movement started by others against this along with other efforts to increase fandom communication and feedback. Its time the company realized when they lean onto the dangerous road.
