  1. Monotype Teams Improvements

    by , 26th October 2013 at 10:20 AM (winstein's Blogs)
With the new Pokemon being introduced, as well as having some old favourites having some improvements, I shall predict some changes for monotype teams. The basic rule for a monotype team is that their teams can only have one type shared among every member, whether it's a mono-type or a dual-type. We have new Pokemon of every type, as well as old Pokemon who receive new boosts. It's probably not perfect, so if I missed out on some cool things each type gets, please point them out!

  2. Final Tier Differences between PO and Smogon (before Gen 6)

    by , 5th October 2013 at 01:08 AM (winstein's Blogs)
It turns out that the final tier shift for PO was on August, meaning nobody's doing tier shifts anymore. That means, we have ourselves the finalised tiers in Generation 5. If you are interested in the online competitive battling scene, there is a chart below that will highlight the differences between, as well as my thoughts on the stark differences. Note that there are certain suspect tests going on, so it's not exactly finalised. Still, the changes won't be as big, so it's no big.

Before that, let's see what changes they have recently:

    by , 14th June 2013 at 10:44 AM (winstein's Blogs)
So Fairy-types are the new type in the block. It's a very awesome thing to introduce since that opens up to more design possibilities, and also give existing Pokemon a new type to fit into. There is another franchise that introduced a new type quite late into the series, and it was introduced in the third Generation. The series I am referring to is Yu-gi-oh (5D's is the 3rd Generation).

Before 5D's, there were 20 types, with a 21st type that is reserved for the Egyptian God cards ...

  5. Tribulations of Great Pokémon 18

    by , 18th May 2013 at 09:24 AM (winstein's Blogs)
This time, we deal with Generation 3’s Legendaries. The increased number of legendary newcomers ensures that this entry will be dedicated to covering most of them. To summarise on how I go about writing these, I will list down a Pokémon’s advantages and disadvantages, followed by the troubles required to raise them (mostly how to find them), ending with whether their troubles are worth the trouble. With that said, let’s move on.
