Here's a (probably) deep question for all of you: Do you think humans are spiritual beings with a physical body, or are they physical beings with a soul?

If you choose to answer, please provide a reasoning for your choice. The reason I want to ask this is to know what you folks at Bulbagarden think about this matter.

Thanks for reading.

Both answers assume that humans are somehow special and not just a mass of chemical compounds arranged in a certain way.

I would have to agree with TheMissingno. I'm not relatively atheistic, but I'm certainly not religious. Reason being is... there's not really any concrete evidence, or at least, I don't think so. I don't mean to rag on anyone religious, I just don't do the whole spirituality thing. If you believe, more power to you.

I just think human beings have such an expansive imagination that spirituality is an actuality, in most people's eyes. I know it's not answering the question, but that's my two cents.

Spiritual beings. I believe in an afterlife and reincarnation, and that our souls live on long after we lose our bodies have perished.

Spirit is the result of the specific chemical compounds that give us a brain and a DNA for us to use while thinking.
Hence, I go with the first option. I'm not atheistic, because no one tells us WHO made these chemical compounds...

Youre a fleshy based on chemical interactions and neural transmitters working simultaneous to give you different feelings based on what your brain sends out into your body, which promote action.
Technically you never truly leave when you die.
You rot, or something eats your corpse
something feed off the waste and grow, or THEY get eaten
Plants use the energy from your decomposition and release oxygen as waste
Many things breath that in to live then they die blah blah
What makes you up have been around since forever, theyre just arranged differently.

I think we're spiritual beings living in flesh bodies. We stay here until the bodies get old and retire to the earth, and then we move on to the next body in the afterlife.

Thanks for the responses, everyone! While not every viewpoint is in-line with mine, I am grateful of your responses all the same.

@TheMissingno.; Let's assume for the time being that humans are somewhat special, then. What would your answer be?

@Metatron; I felt that you are not really answering the question. That's because what you explained applies to just about any organism, including animals and plants, so your response is not clear in which side your answer lies. I take it that you are implying that humans are physical beings with a soul?

    Thanks for reading.

Im implying that if spiritual beings is indeed a thing, the fact we are so closely tied to nature and the life cycles of the earth and the universe intself, that either EVERYTHING has a soul of sorts, or we ar all a part of the gran scheme, the universe itself.
