You know what I'd like to see more and more of on these forums?

I'd like to see more happiness. I'd like to see more people getting along. I would like to see less blogs and forum posts dedicated to whining and fighting about people a user dislikes, or fighting with users about what character in the Pokemon anime they do or don't like.

We are a Pokemon forum. We are all here because we either currently enjoy the Pokemon anime/game franchise, or we have liked it at some point in our lives. No matter which is the case, our love has driven us to creating an account on a forum that is dedicated to it. With this being the case, wouldn't it be nicer to say something like "hey, you like this, and I like that, but we both are in the same boat... the Pokeboat. Want some free hugs?" Free hugs, good will, and happy posts is what keeps a forum a fun place to be a part of. Sure, there will be debates, which can be fun and can exercise the mind, but when they get out of hand and cause bad feelings between users, this isn't fun.

So, why should we care which particular character someone else likes in a fictional series? If you, the reader, have a character that you love over all others, that's cool. Enjoy that character. If someone else disagrees, is that really a reason to write them off as a person? The same goes for shipping. Why should someone care which couples another person prefers in a fictional series? Same goes for who voices a particular dub of the series. You may prefer how one group of people voices the Pokemon series, but that doesn't mean that someone who prefers a completely different group of voices is wrong. All of this is a matter of opinion, and is nothing to start a silly fight over.

This forum is one of a few Pokemon forums that have been around for many generations of Pokemon. We have survived for as long as we have because people enjoy coming here. I personally want people to continue to enjoy the time that they spend here, and I hope that our users are able to have fond memories of the time spend here. Also, I hope that any of our users who may lose interest in the series will actually want to return if their interest is rekindled in future generations. I hope that any user who returns here is able to continue to enjoy our forum like they had in the past, and I hope that any user who joins this forum and stays is able to enjoy all their time here. Nobody should ever ruin that for anybody. It's not nice.

So, remember that a smile and kind words go a lot further than frowns and mean words. I like smiles, and I hope that all of you who read this also like smiles!

Perhaps, but isn't it extremely silly to be doing that on a site that you joined because you wanted to have fun? It would be like getting a season pass to your local amusement park, but beating people up every time that you go. That's no fun!!! I like fun! We need more fun!

Not unless you want to be more like Dr. Jekyll and try to find a way to separate yourself from your evil emotions, literally, in order to be happy and have fun, even if it means constantly sharing the same body with your evil side.

Except this is a forum based around a video game and there is no need to express your 'evil emotions' because fun is the modus operandi?

Exactly! As I said earlier, fighting on a forum that you joined to have fun on is like buying a season pass to your local amusement park, but beating people up every time you went. Sure, you may be at your local amusement park and get a little peeved at the guy who cut in line, but big deal! That's no reason to be an asshole and ruin it not only for the person who cut in line, but for you, and for the innocent bystanders who end up witnessing your fight.

Oh yes, being open isn't a bad thing. The bad thing is when you are treated like dirt for being open about yourself, or treating others badly for being open about themselves.

And that is why I feel like my ideas are terrible because everyone here disagrees with them, so I have to give them up in order to gain their respects and adopt theirs instead, because they know better about the subjects than me.

Hey, just because a group of people who read this blog post disagrees with your posts doesn't mean that everyone here on this forum disagrees with them. At the same time, I know that people disagree with what I posted here. You're most likely not the only one. That doesn't make my idea nor does it make my blog post terrible. Likewise just because people disagree with what you said, that doesn't make your idea terrible. It is a bit pessimistic, but pessimism is an honest feeling, and there are a lot of things in this world that can make a person pessimistic. It's not a terrible thing, it's just a thing. To say that it's terrible is a matter of opinion, and opinion will never be fact.
