i'm genuinely unsure how much of a success this will be, especially considering the fact that i have virtually no friends on bulbagarden, i'm not a figure of significance, and i'm unsure of how many people frequent the blogs section, but i see this type of thing a lot on other forums, and i'm all for openness and i don't think that there is an appropriate forum for doing this here. plus, i enjoy being self-indulgent. ask me whatever you want. it can be asinine, serious -- whatever.

here's something that might answer any questions that you may have about me. if it's acceptable, then by all means, post in it. anyways, there you go.

ask away.

    What's the capital of Nepal?

    What's your favorite colour?

Who is the host of "The Rachel Maddow Show"?

    1. Nepal - damn, I don't know off the top of my head. Kathmundu or something like that, I think? My friend grew up in Nepal, so I feel bad for not knowing this.
    2. Purple.
    3. No idea, but I'm guessing that it isn't Rachel Maddow.

e: Rachel Maddow was the host, the capital is Kathmandu. I was close. >_>
And my friend was born in Nepal, he didn't really grow up there. Whoops.

Why is your username German for "shit head"?

Ah, this question. I was hoping that I would get this, to be honest. It's derivative of Colonel Scheisskopf, a character from one of my favorite novels, Catch-22. That's where I learned the phrase, and I liked it since I believe that it applies rather well to me.

    tl;dr - it's from catch-22 and i am a shithead, so why not?

Have you read Animal Farm, and if so, which character/event is your favorite allegory?

And LOL at the mods not censoring your name...I guessed you love allegorical stories from the catch-22 reference, too.

i'm genuinely surprised that no moderators have said anything about my name, too - i guess its etymology is recondite enough to the point that not many people would know what it actually means. i can't actually change it right now though, so whenever possible, i'll change it to "kingmedicine" or "km" to eschew any trouble that i might get myself into. as for animal farm, man, it's probably been about three years since i read that in world history, haha. so much has happened since then that i honestly don't remember much of it - the characters of boxer and snowball really appealed to me, though, because they were perfect metaphors (i know that isn't the right word - bear with me) for the russian working class and leon trotsky, respectively. it certainly warrants another read whenever i manage to get around to it.

Great choices of allegories! And I keep the book on hand wherever I go, due to to the stimulating nature of the allegorical content. It helps me keep a sharp and active mind via pondering the endless depth of the content.
