Frozen, yes or no?

I'm hearing a lot of good about Frozen and was thinking of watching it in the future, plus "Let it Go" is a really nice song. Though I've seen the movie panned for its immense whitewashing and lack of representation of POC. Apparently it surpassed a large majority of Disney movies in revenue and got a popular animation award recently. Thoughts from those who have seen it? Is it worth the money? It'd be nice to see a non-cookie cutter Disney movie again.

It was simply okay; there were a lot of good things going for it and a lot of bad. There were annoying comic relief characters who ruin the mood, awkwardly placed songs, and a somewhat choppy plot. It's mostly about personal preference as there are people out there who believe it is perfect. Personally I thought it had a lot of potential, but many opportunities were thrown away. I would say go see it, but that's up to you.

It was a fun movie, the plot was simple but good enough to hold my interest, the music was fun and good to follow, the characters were nice, and the ones I thought would end up being annoying didn't turn out to be annoying at all! There were also some nice twists I didn't expect, which is surprising to me because most of the new Disney movies have predictable turns, and I'd definitely watch the movie again when I'd get the chance. Elsa and Anna are really cute together, and the animation for them is great, it's really nice to follow and see them together in the beginning of the movie when they're small children.

Whitewashing and lack of PoC are just the same things people complain about every movie, the same people who expect almost every movie to have every kind of characters for everything even though the movie's morals and story has nothing to do with it. I'd understand if it was meant to be offensive, but it clearly wasn't, so there's nothing to complain about.

Just ignore almost all of the social justice stuff you hear on Tumblr; a lot of people there know as much about things as you do, but act like they know more. As for the actual movie, I've heard a lot of good things. People have been praising that snowman because he wasn't the awful idiot people expected, and from what I've read, the story seems a lot more interesting than what I expected.

Oh yeah! The snowman is really... out of place at first but he shows other traits that make him likeable and a supportive cast member.

I've seen the movie myself, and I must say, it is currently one of my favorite Disney films. HumanDawn pretty much summed up some of the things I liked about the film, so I don't think I have to go in-depth on why I adored it. Oh, and several critics even compared Frozen to other classics like Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King, so it is one of the most critically acclaimed Disney films to come along in the last ten years. Overall, I'd recommend Frozen to pretty much any Disney fan.
