Oh look, another rant.

Hey hey it's me again. Ranting about the Pokemon anime even though no-one cares.
See, episode 5 aired in the dub today. So I guess this is sort of, the last stage in all those other 'stages' beforehand. Cilan has now been introduced, the trio for best wishes has been set up. (Well, in the next episode it will be, but..)
I went back and rewatched Brock's special the other day. I've come to the conclusion that it really could have been the last time we see Brock. I like(d) going around thinking that the writers couldn't possibly never bring up Ash's best friend again. Brock is his best friend, and it would be awful if he never appeared again. But I'm not as optimistic anymore. I will carry on complaining to whoever will listen about this until the poor writing gets fixed.
Watching that episode, it seemed like they completely wrapped him up. OK, maybe he hasn't been a doctor yet, maybe he hasn't even entered the entrance exam yet, but there are several factors that finished up Brock's personal story. For starters, his brother is now oficially gym leader. His parents also agreed that they should be nicer and stick around more often. So where are any new potential stories going to come from? They're not. Everything to do with the Pewter city has been solved, so any chance of another special to do with Brock at home doesn't really have any chance of happening. Lola told Brock he had changed, he used to be more passive. This and along with others were seemingly strange things to put in his episode. For example, the battle he had... he lost. Badly. I really don't get why it'd be a good idea to make him lose SO BADLY. Nurse Joy said that battling was unacceptable. Brock was originally shown to be strong, Ash didn't actually outright beat him ever, and whatever sign of Brock's history of being the first gym leader Ash ever met have been long gone ever since Kanto. His sudowoodo is strong, he raised him from a baby. So why did they make him fail so bad?
Did I mention the photos in his room? Perhaps I'm being over analytical, but was the reason for that to just hint at all the past regions Ash/Brock have been to, or was it a sort of 'This is all of Brock's memories, this is it for him on the show'. I don't know what to take of it, but I don't like it.
Now Cilan has dubuted in English, I don't know what to think. Should I stick on complaining about it? I like the dub, I really do. I grew up with it and I'd never truly abandon it, but for starters my favourite dub voice actor isn't on the show anymore, Brock isn't on the show anymore, Cilan IS on the show, and Brock's Japanese voice actor has seemed to disappear from voice acting for good.
