What game mechanics would you change, given the opportunity?

Just another thought I had.
We all know how there are certain very cheap movesets which were design oversights on the part of the game designers (such as the F.E.A.R. combo), as well as a few things that don't make a lot of sense (such as recoil damage being reduced on a weak hit... or is that just me?). But how would you personally rectify some of these mistakes?
On the recoil damage bit, I'd personally make it so that recoil damage is calculated based on typeless damage at a certain power, instead of just being a fraction of the damage received by the other party.
On priority attacks (ones who are described to "always move first" and deal damage as well), what'd happen is that those attacks simply get a speed bonus (like, say, 4x for +1, 16x for +2, etc.), so that for all intents and purposes in a relatively even battle, it works the same way as priority. Moves with other priorities are usually ones that probably have some other game-mechanical reason why they have to go first, so they'd stay unaffected.
