Best Wishes S2: Episode 3 Review - Double kodomo ne!? (New Edition: Pictures)

Here I go: (beware of spoilers!)
Do I dare to ship them? WAAH, they're so adorable and amazing! ;_;
Although lacking a bit in the logic department (which I assume was done for the sake of pulling off comedic effects), this episode established Iris and Dawn's chemistry and interactions, as well as their behavior around Ash (such as adorable teasing), as one of the best - if not THE best, main girl interactions in this anime. Honestly, May/Misty and Dawn/May can't even compare to this much sweetness, awesomeness and hilariousness, all within one fun episode.
Iris and Dawn were definitely the highlights of this episode for me but the double kodomo ne really took me by pleasant surprise. By the time Dawn began making those face expressions, it was obvious that she was teasing Ash (as well as Iris) but seeing Ash react to both girls taunting him was, needless to say, hilarious.
Just look at that hilarious expression, lol!
These two amazing girls just kept messing with him, haha, and I love the fact that, instead of bickering with each other as others hoped for, Iris and Dawn pretty much teamed up against Ash. It was something I didn't expected and well, it was a winning combination in my book. My two favorite Pokémon heroines, side by side. <3
Lol, Ash is scared by a Woobat and falls down.
Iris and Dawn call him a kid, chuckle together and fearlessly stroll into the cave.
What's there NOT to love?
And of course, Dento is worried about his lover.
Now, for some more amusing Iris/Dawn scenes:
Now, onto the other points of this episode I found good. xD
- Brock was mentioned!
OMG BROCK. HE'S ... cooking. -.-
I just love continuity and hearing that he was mentioned by Dawn made me really happy. Of course, I don't think this necessarily means he might make his return as a Pokémon Doctor in season 2, but I'd certainly say that there are many plausible scenarios through which he could actually show up. Perhaps, for the World Tournament? The staff at the Pokémon Center could surely use some extra doctors, so why not have Brock as a tutor or a pupil? It'd be really believably in my opinion, IF it happened. ^^
But yeah, YAY BROCK! :D
Another thing I liked in this episode was Meloetta.
Moon Prism Power! Make Up!!
Am I the only one who actually likes Meloeta and her singing? I adore her voice, her transformation scene was beautiful and she kicked some ass (though I wish we could have seen more from her form). I'm glad they're giving her this spotlight in BW2. :) I'm looking forward to more ass kicking in the future, hopefully against Team Rocket, I'd love to see her Pirouette Form in some more action!
Speaking of that lovely maiden Meloetta:

Since when do penguins have teeth? LOL XD
Anyway, sorry Oshawott lovers (not really), but I'm going Team Pochama/Piplup on this one. The thing is, I was and always remained a fan of Piplup since the DP series ended and by the time Oshawott was introduced, I realized how much of a blatant copy this damn otter was. I just, can't like him as much as you guys do, sorry. :/
On top of that, I don't find their rivalry all that amusing either. It has some funny bits, but their interactions seem forced and too repetitive to me. I don't know, I guess this wasn't what I expected from the two meeting. It's pretty much Piplup interacting with himself, albeit in a shape of an otter.
Also, for the lack of logic:
Why didn't they just send out their Pokémon? I guess that did save them some time and they probably didn't feel like battling, but still, Iris could have easily sent out her Excadrill and Dawn had Togekiss and Mamosweine - they could have easily defeated each and every one of the Onix. Oh well, at least the comedy worked when it came to Dawn and Iris.
Also, Oshawott learned Hydro Pump, not really surprised - I am surprised though that he didn't learn it earlier. He has been established as a strong fighter after all.
Wow, I didn't know it was possible for me to dislike Onix even more.
Just look at this color, this thing is fucking hideous! ._.
And yeah, a shiny Onix appeared. It didn't do much ... or like, anything at all.
Team Rocket also got their obligatory scenes but I won't get into them because, well, I'll wait until we get more information. Also because I don't really care. At least I hope that their next two/three-parter will be better than the last one. I'm not holding my expectations high, though.
Overall, this was one fun and enjoyable episode of season 2 and a decent continuation of this brand new saga. Putting character development/plot aside, as long as we have fun watching an episode of Pokémon, I believe that's what makes an episode truly good. So yes, this was a good episode! :D
