Am I the only one who doesn't hate a single female companion of Ash's ?

Warning: This blog is incredibly positive.
If you are prone to bashing Ash's female companions, I suggest you turn back. I won't, because ... I have a reason to like each and every one of them.
Misty: To be honest here, I mostly like her due to nostalgia she represents for me in Pokémon anime. She was the original girl so I will always remember her fondly as I remember crying when she split up with Ash and Brock at the end of Johto. I was very happy to see her return in AG and finally get some sort of closure with the whole Togepi storyline. I was especially ecstatic when I saw her commanding her Gyarados to use Flamethrower. It made me feel really proud of what's she accomplished and how much she's grown since her early Kanto days.
May: I didn't know what to expect when Misty left so I was pleasantly surprised by what May's character introduced along with a new goal. Starting of as an inexperienced trainer not that fond of Pokémon and only interested in traveling, I was happy to see May grow into a capable trainer as she found herself sailing the seas of Pokémon Contests. I especially liked how she didn't have a mascot which allowed her Torchic to fully evolve by the end of BF completely representing May's full growth as a person and as a trainer.
I also loved her rivals and ofc, I shipped her with Drew.
Dawn: What can I say? I loved Dawn. Even though they were both coordinators, May and Dawn's beginnings starkly contrast each other with Dawn being set on becoming a Top Coordinator unlike May who didn't exactly know what she was going to do with her life. I generally found Dawn's contest story arc pretty amazing with her confidence being shattered after a second loss in row in appeal round and then having to regain that confidence so she could become the talented Coordinator she is now.
Another thing I like is how she was the first main girl to challenge a gym leader, it was an exciting decision made my the writers and I fully supported it. Oh and I love her team (including Piplup). :D
Oh and I loved her interactions with Ash and still do. Pearlshipper. :P
Iris: I love Iris as well. From the very start I knew she wouldn't disappoint and she was a true breath of fresh air after two coordinators girls. I just LOVE her jungle girl motif and everything she does as a jungle girl, it's really refreshing.
One of many stuff I liked about Iris is how we got very little info about her and then gradually started to find out more about her past as she got more comfortable around Ash and Cilan. Her snarky attitude is always welcome and I support the idea of her not being afraid to criticize certain characters (such as Ash or Cilan) for their sometimes excessively dumb or inappropriate behavior. She's honest, straightforward and generally tougher in terms of personality.
Her whole backstory revolving Excadrill and the character development was absolutely beautiful and not to mention the foreshadowing set up back in episode 36 revolving around Drayden and the old matriarch from the Dragon Village which will hopefully pay off decently in the upcoming Drayden arc.
Axew, just like Scraggy, has grown from a baby Pokémon uncapable of performing a simple Dragon Rage into a decent fighter with much more untapped potential and all thanks to Iris's constant push and training.
Oh and despite the fact she doesn't get as much as focus as Dawn did, I like how she found her own rival in Georgia, the Dragon Buster, establishing one of the most satisfying rivalries in BW.
Throughout BW, Iris has proven that she has potential to become a Dragon Master though we were also shown that she has a long way to go as well especially with the recent Dragonite incident that has set up an obstacle for Iris to overcome.
And ... man, I could go on and on but I think I proved my point. xD
Am I the only one who doesn't hate any of the four girls? Because it IS possible to like one girl without hating others by default. ^^
Man, it feels good to write a positive blog for once. :)
