So, in my last post I stated that my Emerald was screwing up. After some helpful insight from all who commented, I've determined that my game is in fact bootleg. I had contacted Nintendo about it and they sent me the following message:

Thanks for writing! I’m glad you’ve taken the time to alert us to the issue you’re having with your DS Lite. I’m confident that it can be resolved.

Normally, I would direct you to our website for troubleshooting and to set up a repair if necessary. However, the problem you’re describing means we need to speak to you directly to get all of the details and work out the best solution.

At your earliest convenience, please contact Nintendo's Consumer Service Department by calling 1-800-255-3700 any time between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Pacific Time, seven days a week. In order to speed things along, make sure to have your system with you when you call.

O__O, I have to be contacted directly? Not by email? I hope I'm not in trouble. I honestly thought it was a legit game gone bad when I sent them the message. I smell a letter coming. What should I do?

P.S. I just noticed the person's name is Kurt Wagner. lol, Nightcrawler. Hope he doesn't poof to my house. :P /lame.

Don't bother calling since your game is a fake. I don't think Nintendo can/will help you.

And don't worry, Nightcrawler doesn't like poofing into places he's never been :p

Call anyways - maybe they'll take pity on you or something. Nintendo's Customer Service is legendary like that. It's not like they can do anything bad to you anyways - it wasn't your fault.

lol, I probably should have taken MeltyClocks's advice. The person I talked to did not know anything about what she was talking about. Some of the questions that made me want to slap someone:

After stating that my problem was with Pokemon Emerald:
"Is that a Nintendo DS game or a Game Boy Advance game?"
(Emerald is on the DS? What? Really? )

After stating that I play my GBA games on the Nintendo DS:
"Is that a Nintendo DS or a Nintendo DSi?"
(Last time I checked, the DSi didn't have a GBA slot. )

After stating that both games were in their respective slots at the same time:
"Two games are not meant to be in both slots at the same time. This makes the games confused as to which game it should read from."
(I know that seems plausible, but what about Pal Park? )

As you can see, that ordeal made me rather dizzy.
