Things people should try/use (use more, in some cases)

Just things I've been trying out online in XY and really liking. Some are known to be good, but others seem to be pretty rare.

1) Assault Vest Clawitzer. It isn't the most amazing Pokemon in comparison to some stuff, but when I use it online it's pretty much taken everything on 1-for-1 except stuff like Chansey and physical Electric/Grass types (though if you can get in a move it can deal pretty big damage with its coverage). I have Water Pulse/Dark Pulse/Aura Sphere/Ice Beam. Insanely good coverage and power with Mega Launcher! And not like Clawitzer ever needs to run non-attacking moves, so Assault Vest is good. I do like the set very much.

2) Mega Banette. So unbelievably underated and incredibly clutch. It's my latest obsession. Everyone's busy with Mega Kang, the Charizards, etc, it seems, and so Mega Banette is really rare. Prankster Destiny Bond is amazing and can right wrongs (one example of this: I accidently burned a Guts Conkeldurr, then used D-Bond to make sure it didn't get a chance to do anymore damage) and has good Attack to use when it's needed.

3) Scolipede. Obviously this isn't overlooked, and everyone knows it's really good, now it has Speed Boost. But it can single handed take teams on Wi-Fi at times, provided your opponent makes just one slight error allowing you to set up (I use SubSD, but I'm sure there's plenty of other options). If you haven't tried it, definitely get your hands on one and give it a go! It's a monster.

4) Rotom-Heat. Rotom-Wash is everywhere, but Heat can be just as useful! One of the few Fire-types that can actually be good defensively (Heatran is probably the best, I guess). I've been using this the entire time I've been online and it's really fun. I use ChestoRest, but I guess there's probably better sets for it.

5) Infestation Gastrodon. Sounds like a joke/bad gimmick, but I think it's good and at the very least unexpected. One time someone even forfeit against it, he had Rotom-Wash (can't touch Gastrodon without HP Grass) and Goodra (my Gastrodon is Specially Defensive) and I never saw his last Pokemon.

Anything that any of you have been using that you would recommend me to try out? Or that's been working for you? I've got the breeding itch again, so I'm willing to try most things (aslong as it's not like Gale Wings Talonflame, Dragonite, Mega Kang, etc, everyone is using those).

One thing that suprised me was while a Flamethrower from a Moltres does like 30% damage to my Aegislash in Shield Forme, a Clawitzer with a Dark Pulse leaves my IV Perfect Aegislash in Shield Forme with 252 EVs in HP near fainting and that's freaking impressive.

I haven't battled online at all, but Sylveon has really good special defense and pretty solid HP. Might be a good tank.

Might I suggest an Aura Sphere and Dark Pulse Mega Blastoise? Blastoise needs love too.

Infestation sounds pretty good. Another reason to want to get my gastrodon over to Gen 6.

Perhaps the best counter to an Aegislash is a Golurk carrying Phantom Punch. Since King's Shield is easy to predict and the punch hits through protect moves it's perfect. Most people don't know about that move yet so they'll probably try to protect anyways too.
Not to mention setting up Tailwind in Double Battles with it. Play some mind games on who's going to get hit the next turn.

@L.L.; Contrary Malamar is also a good counter to Aegislash because when King's Shield protects from Night Slash instead of lowering Malamar's Attack it increases it by two stages because of Contrary.

Something I love to use is Florges. I've only seen it once or twice, but this thing has one of the best special defenses; it's so amazing. x_x

What is the set for Infestation Gastrodon?

I actually have a trained one, wonder if I can just put Infestation on it.

I can attest to Mega Banette's usefulness, especially with all the Mega Kangaskhan running around. Though I did find it started to become less useful as I moved up the ranks and stall-esque teams started to become more common, as savvy players know to take it down with passive damage to avoid Destiny Bond.

I haven't used it, but Mega Venusaur scares the living daylights out of me whenever I see one. That thing is just insanely difficult to put down, especially since no sleep clause means it can just put your whole team to sleep.

    Espurr (m)
    Bold 252def/252hp
    Prankser
    Yawn
    Light screen
Mist(or whatever the status safety is called)

No body uses espurr and has a clue to its evil purpose. By the time it is dead it has usually put reflect/light screen up and as a final fu has the opponent drowsy with yawn as they get the ko shot. In comes whatever boost sweeper you want and sets up with a free turn and is almost unkillable with screens up.

My Clawitzer is Modest with max IVs and 252 Sp.Atk EVs, and when I first started using it I was really impressed by just how hard it can hit.

I do want to breed an Eevee for Sylveon at some point. But the eeveelutions are rather low on my list of things to do.

I don't like Florges for a few reasons, mostly because its abilities entirely cater to Doubles. I might breed one eventually and try it out, but I think I'd rather use a Sylveon instead until it gets a good ability or something to differ itself or when they retcon it to Fairy/Grass ;___;.

Mine is Calm with 252 HP/252 Sp.Def with Storm Drain. Scald, Ice Beam, Infestation and Recover. The nature and EVs can probably be changed to physically defensive (so Bold, or even Relaxed if you want to use Earthquake) and you could even use Toxic over Ice Beam or something like that, if you want to kill them faster after being trapped. I just use Sp.Def to take on the special attackers easier, and then Scald to potentially fish for burns on physical stuff.

Yeah, one of the better players I faced stalled down my Mega Banette with Toxic and repeated switches to avoid the Destiny Bond. I still love using it though ^_^

I actually have a Prankster Meowstic bred and trained up, I just haven't really felt inclined to try it out yet. I should probably do it though, anything with Prankster seems to be fun to use. Mine has Thunder Wave and Toxic and Barrier I think. Probably not the best, but there's plenty of room for adjustment on Prankster mons, since they can usually do various different things.

Thanks for all the replies btw! ^_^

Assault Vest Clawitzer ... I should try that some time! What's the EV spread on yours?

Mine's Modest with 252 HP and 252 Sp.Atk. I guess you could dedicate some to physical defense, but I like having all that power and good Sp.Def too!

Have a Chestnoght with a rocky helmet and spiky sheld. it is good to have in competive battling

I have a beautiful Clawitzer that I got from a friend while he was breeding for a shiny competitive one, its Modest, has perfect sp. attack, and kills everything. Only difference between mine and yours is mine doesn't know Ice Beam, he knows Dragon Pulse.

Also, I'm totally surprised I don't see more of Weavile. It has monstrous attack and speed and a pretty good move pool.
