HG Nuzlocke. Part 1.

I'm going to attempt a Nuzlocke in Gen IV (HG). I did start one in Gen III (Ruby) which I haven't finished, but that's another story.
Here are the rules I'm going to be playing by:
1. Any pokemon that faints is dead and must be released.
2. I must nickname all pokemon that I catch.
3. I can only catch the first pokemon I encounter in each area.
4. No buying or using any items (PokeBalls, Poitions, Revives, Repels, etc). Pokemon Center access isn't restricted. I obviously can use PokeBalls to catch pokemon, but they must be either found in the wild, by Pickup or given by an NPC (so not bought, basically).
5. Gift pokemon (e.g. Shuckle, Eevee...) are allowed, but legendaries are not and must be killed.
6. Battle option must be set to set and not switch.
7. No running from wild pokemon battles (no repel either).
Seems like a nice set of rules. No Pokemon Center restriction because I know for a fact that I won't get very far if I do restrict it. I was going to add on a "No HM slave" but I realised that could get sticky if I have nothing that can use the HM in my party, so that's a no for this run. Maybe next time.
Anyway, I started last night, and here's the start!:
New Bark Town:
Felt like playing as a girl for a change. I went and chose a starter pokemon from Prof.Birch and I picked...
Sassy - Overgrow
Chikorita! What a surprise! As the Chikorita-line is fairly bulky, it should be useful -- staying alive, statusing stuff and putting up screens and whatnot. Anyway, we'll see how it fares. I was lucky and received a Sassy Female, which is really nice (most starters I've had have always been neutral natures...). Yes, the nickname is awful.
So, with Peapod behind I headed for Cherrygrove... met some crazy guy who likes to run... met Mr.Pokemon, got an egg... battled the red-haired kid... started my journey! The rival's name for my playthrough is... I can't remember, I guess we'll have to wait for my next battle with him to find out. I think it's Jesse, but don't quote me on that just yet.
Hoping for a Sentret here because they are cute, but I ran into, and caught, a Pidgey, which is not-so-bad, imo. At least it's not Hoothoot. xD
Hardy - Keen Eye
After training Fudge up, I decided to head to Route 46 to see what was there... and I found a Geodude. Now, I've never particularly liked the Geodude-line (Golem is o.k. I guess), but this thing would have been great against the first gym.
But, what's that I hear you say? Would have been great? Yes, that's right, a Tackle from Fudge CRIT the Geodude and killed it. I mean... WHAT THE F#CK?
Owell. I left the route and carried on to Cherrygrove (again).
Healed up in Cherrygrove's Center then hurried onto the next route to see what my next team member would be...
Hasty - Shield Dust
Found a Caterpie! Just glad it wasn't another Pidgey, to be honest. Nice nature, too. Gonna train it up (more like baby it up) and carry on through Route 30 where battles will begin!
So, at the end of the first part of my HG Nuzlocke, there's nothing else to say except this was a boring one with not much content! But the start of games are always slow anyway, so it'll pick up.
