Why do people like this exist?

You know what worse than someone who was 9 in 1998 loved pokemon, grew older and now thinks later generations suck. Someone who was FOUR in 1998 loved pokemon, grew older and thinks later generation suck. It is fucking stupid. My little brother said there was a gen 1 purist in his grade my brother was born 1996 that would make this person at most three. That's rediculous and I don't understand it.

Ah, because they think it's cool to act all elitist and junk.

I was once told in the Internet that if you like Pokemon from Gen2+ means that you're mentally disable.

Honestly, I don't know why someone would like Gen I and II over III-V. Is it just down to nostalgia, or is there more to it than that?

I don't think you understand. I think gen II is the best gen overall, but I'd rather play Platinum today, seeing it's a great game and the mechanics are better (which is to be expected, with the time gap between them)

Honestly, I don't see why someone still thinks liking gen I/II is based solely on nostalgia. Of course, ignoring that gen III is pretty nostalgic nowadays, it's not exactly brand new.

It's just one of those "nostalgia-freaks", I encounter them all the time on the fandom, they practically worship the older gens, and bash on the newer gens (and sometimes even the people who like them)

*nods* Ah, yes. I know what you mean. The people bother me as well because I enjoy all the generations (I'm not a very particular gamer) but they insist that the first two are the only ones that matter. It's a shame they have to be so close-minded.
