Why dragon "needed" to be nerfed? Yes a lot of them are strong but that doesn't make the type cheap. Water and Steel dominate way harder. Dragon was designed to be strong anyways. And if you're nerfing dragon because of Psuedos isn't that give Metagross a non dragon psuedo an advantage. He gets to keep the all mighty 600 BST which is not unheard of in non dragons at all.

Its not really a nerf on the type. An extra weakness is not going to hurt the meta game too much. Most OU builds carry a ice type attack anyway. Its a counter to Outrage spam.

Well others say dragon is overpowered. Which it really isn't. And Outrage can be counter by a bulky water or steel type.

As was Psychic in Gen I. Was it unfair to nerf Psychic?

Yes, it does. Are they reducing the BST of Dragon pseudo-legendaries now?

Dragons aren't the only overpowered type, and their advantages aren't all that evident on paper, but consider that on average they have the highest base stats, and the fact that one of only two existing counters to Dragon-type is... Dragon-type. Introducing an additional counter also has the effect of boosting some neglected types: if the rumors are true, then Poison becomes more useful as a counter to the Dragon-counter and so on.

I don't know the mind of Game Freak and I don't know the logic they used to come to this decision. Nobody here can know that. I don't think that your position is necessarily without merit, but your arguments in defense of it aren't great.
Scarlet Sky, HumanDawn and Reila like this.

    1. But no one convinced that dragon is overpowered powered sure but over powered there are plenty of ways to deal with dragon. Water types are totes plentiful and get rain and they all get ice beam making having a strong ice move is easy as hell to come by.

    2. No but people use BSTs as basis for nerfing and there are loads of pokemon around that strong. Including yo right now.

    3. Water has two weaknesses one is counter by ground and the other by ice.

    4. That is balanced by having little super effective stab moves and most them having 4x weakness to ice and the ones that don't are frail. Sure Latios pisses me off but so Whimsicott. And I don't want to nerf grass.

I almost agree that water is op, but I always have an electric or grass type in my team or at least a move of those types.

I still leave it at dragons are only losing some dignity now, but most fairies won't be heavy hitters most likely.

It should help bring in more variety too, and it has also made Dragon-type Pokemon available early on in the game like Axew.

I just wanted some clarity on this one "justication" for the type I have plenty of problems for other issues with the type. And I have a rebuttal to the variety thing if you wish to hear it.

I think people complaining is justification enough.

Dragon in itself isn't overpowered, it's just that the Pokemon themselves tend to be stronger than most other types (4/6 pseudo legends are Dragon, for example). I don't think adding another weakness was really necessary, but it doesn't really hurt.
