Why can't Nintendo reveal Sylveon's Type?

Just why can't Nintendo reveal the new type that Sylveon has already? Why would they make all this hype and stuff? It's not like they can make a profit off of it, right?

I don't think anyone noticed, but they are making a bigger deal about what Sylveon's Type is going to be then Yvelt's or Xernes's type. If you went on the Pokemon site, they had the little type box thing under Sylveon and ??? was in the box. That box didn't show up anywhere near where Yvelt or Xernes was, even though we don't know there type yet. ~~Yvelt is going to be the Y-Type!~~

One thing that is probably 100% going to happen, is that the milasecond that they give game stores Pokemon X and Y to sell to people, Pokemon Dream World is going to shut down and it would be like nothing happend, like our memory was erased or something.

Argh!

I whack Nintendo now!

I dont see why Nintendo would just get rid of the Dream World after all the work they've put into it. The Dream World may continue into Gen 6, with the Gen 5 servers still running.

Also they are likely making a big deal over hiding Sylveon's type because there is something special about it, like it being a brand new type.

Because they need hype around the new games for people to buy them. It happens in movies and books as well. When they reveal Sylveon's Type, there will be some new thing that will hype up X & Y.

They can, they just don't want or have to reveal anything seven months before the release date of the game.

Come on, they can show us off TONS of new Gen 6 Pokemon! Hiding Sylveon's type like it's top secret won't get me hyped up, gor sure...
After all, Pokemon is for kids, and kids don't check Bulbanews thrice a day for latest news. It's quite possible they don't even KNOW that Gen 6 is coming, until TV ads popped up (that's personal experience, with D/P release...)

Pokémon is a series for kids, but Gamefreak are very aware of the older fans, and they repeatedly show it. The kids are going to buy the games anyway, just because it has "Pokémon" in the title and their parents buying it for them; it's the older fans that they have to convince.
