Not too often I see this. o_o

So I was in Wellspring Cave, in the basement area where you have to Surf. When I got off, I was ambushed by a Trainer instantly. As in, before I could even move. Once the battle was over...the Surf music was still playing. And it kept playing until I got back on the water; the music then restarted, and when I got onto land again, the normal cave music began playing just like normal.

Now, I like the Surf music way better than the cave music, don't get me wrong, but...wow. How peculiar. ...

Yeah....I think I'm going to give it a shot sooner or later. The first Pokémon I'm going to raise to battle with there is a special attacking Salamence. Now, the question is...what Pokémon would make a good partner for Salamence, and what would be a good third Pokémon to go with those two? Any suggestions?
