Specifically? I have $200 able to spend that I'm not sure what to do with.

Now, I have a few vague ideas for what to get with it. Namely, various games/peripherals. I am a gamer, after all.

Problem is, there's way too many to choose from, and I can't help but think that I'll end up missing out on some really good ones.

So, that's where you guys come in.

Give me some ideas. I really need to know what I'm getting before I get it.

Some specifics to keep in mind: I have a PS3, a slightly damaged Wii that won't read the more extensive games, and a Nintendo DSi. So no Xbox, PSP, or 3DS exclusives.

Also, some preferences of mine. My favorite genre is fighting games, with platformer games at a close second, followed by action-adventures, but I'll play just about any genre.

And this is the most important detail of all. NO RIDICULOUSLY BLOODY/GORY GAMES. I'm placing this rule because my parents would dismiss it quite easily.

So, throw out some ideas.

What about Minecraft? It's got fighting, platforming (kind of), action, and adventure. And it has no gore whatsoever, plus it's a third of the price of a PS3 or Xbox 360 game.

I knew I was going to get at least a few ridiculous responses. Eh, guess it can't be helped.

I bought Minecraft back when it was still in Alpha. Good suggestion, though. Matter of fact, I should start playing that again...

God of War, even though I do recognize that they're good games, is a definite no. If I end up trying to get that game, my parents wouldn't let me hear the end of it.

The World Ends With You...that's actually not a half bad idea. I've heard good things about that game.

I know, I hate double post glitches, too.

Tell your parents that video-games are harmless and educational.
I bought GoW 1 with my parents approval when I was 11 y.o. cuz they know that I know the difference between games and reality.
If your parents allow you to watch movies with violence or blood then they shouldn't ban you from playing violent video-games.
    That's just double-standards.

    Get a 3ds console or a PSP.

As for parents, meh. They used to not be able to let me get M rated games until I talked my mom into letting me get Halo 1.

    Donate it to charity.

    Or buy a LEGO game.

I would drop 15 bucks to an Indie game called SpyParty (not even in beta yet but looks fun)

I reccomend getting 'The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon'. It's a Wii game and no knowledge of the previous TLoS/general Spyro games is needed to play. It's quite out-of-fashion but it's cool.

Right, well I just bought a few key makeup supplies that I was running low today when I went out with my mates.

    You can buy that xD

Buy like clothes, shoes or something. Even if your guy, you should be fashionable xD

GatoRage, you obviously don't know my parents, probably because I haven't said much about them. Seriously, they are not going to let me get those games. At all.

Gligar13, a 3DS is still too expensive, and getting a PSP wouldn't really leave room for much else.

Nightcrawler, I've considered getting one of the LEGO games. Not sure which one, though.

Infernos, I got both of those months ago and I still play them to this day.

tyler212, I've caught word of SpyParty as well, and it definitely looks promising.

Derpeh Hoovez, I haven't really bothered to look into Spyro things. Still, I'll game that specific game a look.

Milo†icgirl McQüeen, why did I know that you would give an answer like that?

Get the most recent Lego Star Wars if you're getting a Lego game. I think it's 3.
