Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard

So here is where we start... The First Fire type in the national Dex and the one of the most in/famous pokemon in the seires the Charmander line! I guess most of us remember back in the day when the Pokemon came into US and conquered the world Charmander and his friends Bulbasaur and Squirtle were the three pokemon you choose from. (Except for Yellow where Pikachu was your starter though you got the Trio early in the game afterwards)

H was considered the hardest of the Starters to train due to his weakness against the first three gyms (Well Surge only counts if you grinded enough to have Charizard by the time you get to Vermillion) But yet he was the most popular of the orignal trio because he was a dragon (but not a dragon though he's in the Dragon Egg group...)

As I said he's an all around good pokemoon with great stat distrobution and a very broad move-poll his biggest flaw is his 4x's weakness to Rock and therfore Stealt Rock sending him plummiting to the UU tier. (But since access to SR is greatly reduced in Gen V maybe that can change)

He however has severat moves to counter his infamous weakness. (Focas-Blast/Brick-Break/EQ/Bulldoze/Solar-Beam) so al his not lost for our little not-dragon.

Vulpix & Ninetales

So we leave our Dragons and go to the first of several Canine Fire types the Vulpix line! Vulpix is an unique little pokemon being the only known Fire type that has a greater chance of being Female then Male.. She is based on the mythical Kitsune of Japanese legend that can breathe fire (An interesting note that both Ninetales and Zorroark can learn Flame Thrower a refrence to that part of the legend maybe) and create illusions that look so real that it can drive you mad (Which is shown in a Anime episode non the less long before the Zorua line was created which makes me think that Ninetales should've gotten Illusion as a DW ability)

She is a good pokemon often seen as a counterparts to Growlith as their gender ratio in reversed. She has a good movepool though not as large as Charizard and is a very good Nasty Plot sweeper if allowed the chance to power up. She also get a DW ability in Drought which makes her really popular in Sun centered teams (Though I still say Illusion wuld have fit her better being based off the Kitsune after all)

Growlith & Arcanine

Wow SO far all the Fire types have gotten a 5/5 from me lol but this is my facorite pokemon of all time right here Growlith and his evo Arcanine! Now like Ninetales he evolves via the use of a fire stone and he is most famous for having the highest BST of all pokemon that evolve once (And before Slaking had the highest BST of all None Legendary.Psuedo-Legenary pokemon) His Signiture move is Extreemspeed (though other pokemon can learn it) and he hits like an armored truck since both his Attack and Special Attack are extremly high (110 and 100) combined with Good Defenseive stats (80 in both) and excellent Speed (95) he has a fantastic Stat Distrobution. He also has a broad Movepool on par if not better then Charizard.

He is blessed with several fighting type moves (Close-Combat/Double Kick and Reversal) to deal with his weakness to Rock and Ground and even learns an Electric move (Wild Charge) to deal with water and even get's Iron-Tail through Breeding. All and all a fantastic pokemon imo though I could be biased...

They are most famous for being used as Police Dos by Officer Jenny and are known to be extremly loyal and Arcanines Dex entries always praise his power and beauty as well as his speed

Ponyta & Rapidash

So this is the first pokemon I didn't give a 5/5 rating to... the Ponyta line. This is an interesting pokemon to be sure. a flaming horse (and in Rapidash's case a flaming unicorn) they are decent pokemon though I never really used them... Rapidash has a solid Stat Distrobution except for HP and a They're movepool is somewhat limited since they don't learn many moves of other types (though Rapidash can learn Megahorn argualby the best Bug move in game)

Though often ignored they became mandatory in D/P due to the Horrid Regional Dex at the time. being the only non-starter Fire type since for some reason Magmar wasn't avable pre-leauge despite having a new evo thoughg they thankfully fixed it in Pt.

Magby, Magmar, Magmortar

I know that Magby and Magmortar are Gen II/IV pokemon but to save time I'm putting them with Magmar... SO the Magmar line were to begin... well they are cenrtianly unique pokemon to say the least... Well... hm... They are pokemon I'm not really familur with to be honest though I like this line all the same.

Magmortal has a montstrous SATK of 125 insanly high for a non-legendary pokemon (and later topped a Gen later with Chandelure with his whomping 145 SATK stat) And has a great movepool that allows him to counter every single one of his weakness
(Learning EQ Focasblast Thunderbolt and of course SolarBeam. not to mention all the other fighting moves he gets (which begs the question why he isn't a Fire/Fighting type)

He's a very versatile pokemon with a great move-pool and a fantastic SATK well thats it for Magmar...

Flareon

SO here we go again another Canid pokemon... Flareon... Like Ninetales he's quite uniquein the fact that he is the only fire type not to evolve from another Fire type evolving from Eeveea Normal type. Like the other Eeveelutions he has a BST of 525 and his highest stat is attack with a monstrous 130

though sadly he has a mostly special movepool but has a much lower 95 in that stat (not that 95 is bad it's excellent but his high attack is wasted on moves like Fire Fang being one of the few physical STAb moves he gets... and a weird lack of Flareblitz which has frequently been noted.

With his wasted attack stat and limited movepool he is often considered the worst Eeveelution though he is quite cute...

Moltres

So here is where we end this one... Moltres the Phoenix (Not to be confused with Ho-oh who is also a phoenix but the eastren idea of the phoenix Moltres is based on the western phoenix...

One of the Bird Trio with a BST of 580 and the First Fire Legend Moltres is pretty well known (considering the fact that him and his brothers have been whored out so much it makes snese why thats true) He is also the onl Fire Type to learn SolarBeam via level-up 9Though Every single fully evolved Fire type can learn it... He is of course very powerful and learns a bunch o fmoves but like Charizard has the dreaded 4x's weakness to rock...

So that is it for now... I'm gonna try and get a female snivy trade it to White and breed it with Rhypherior so I can have a Snivy with Iron-Tail

Macargo I'm gonna breed with a Litwik so I can have one with Heat Wave abd Flame Thrower

And for an Axew trade over an Aggron or it's prevo's with Iron Tail and Earthquake for the baby Axew

Breed a Dusion withan Alakazam knowing Psyshock/Psychic/Focas Blast and trick Room

And probably breed a Wargle and Tympo so I can have a Flying and Water Pokemon

SO We start with the Charmander line... These guys are among the most iconic Pokemon of all time...

I have always loved these guys Being my favorite Starter line (Hey I'm a sucker for Fire Types) And they're cool design. While admittably uncreative still looks bad-ass and not copy-paste like other Gen I evo's (I'm looking at you Muk/Magneton/Dotrio)

They are extremly poweful with a high BST 534. of however... Charizard is crippled by a 4x's weakness to rock being the first Pokemon in Nat-Dex order have one

They're basis are kinda obvious Charizard expesully... Charmander and Charmeleon are based on the mythical Salamander. While Charizard is based on the stereotypical European Dragon.

Charizard is also notted for being the first version Mascot (Red and it's Remake Fire-Red)

SO We're done with Dragons... Now we are at one of the two canind Fire Familes... The Vulpix Line!

Vulpix and her Evo are unique in several ways. Most notible is the fact that They are the only Fire Type to have a Gender Ratio that make Males rarer then Females (75% Female) And are famous for being able to live to 1000 years. and she is the First Pokemon in Nat-Dex Order to Evolve Via Fire-Stone

A funny note that this is referenced in the Anime in EP 232 A Ninetales Thought Brock was her long lost Master who had died many years ago...

They are pretty good Pokemon with a BST of 510... Ninetales is somewhat of a defensive Pokemon as her highest stat are Speed and S-Defense which are 100... But her other stats are well rounded making her a stable Pokemon. She also gets the extremly powerful drought.

Like the Carmander Family the Orgins of this family are obvious with those who are familier to Japanese folklore (Or have seen Inuyasha as one of the Major Characters is a fox Demon) They are based on the Kitsune... A Powerful fox demon that can live up to a 1000 years.

The most powerful is the Kyuubi-no-Kitsune (The 9 Tailed Fox) Legend has it that for every century a fox lives they gain a tail and grow more powerful. They are also known to create illusions and can desgise themselves as human (Which the Ninetales in 232 was doing)

SO here we are... The Growlith line. These Guys are my favorite Pokemon so I'm a bit biased...

Like Ninetales Arcanine Evolves with a Fire stone. They can be considered Gender Counterparts due to having the same Evo method and having the same Gender Ratio (75%) However THey have different BST (Arcanine's being 45 points higher) Different DM Abilities (Ninetales gets drought while Arcanine get's Righteous Heart (which is a rip-off he should'vr gotten Drought as well)

Arcanine are considered to be 'Legendary' though they aren't counted as Legendary Pokemon. The Pokedex makes numrous refernces to his Speed (R/B/Ru/S/E/FR/LG) His Magnifcent nature (G/S/HG/SS) And his Proud and Regal Nature (D/P/Pt/B/W)

He was until Gen V The most powerful Pokemon that evolves once (A spot that was taken from him by Archeos who has a BST of 567) But is still the Strongest non Legendary Fire Type in the Game...

Like the First two they're orgins are easy to identify Growith is based on a puppy. While Arcanine is based on a Ryukyuan Shisa (AKA the Lion-Dog

Now that we are done with the Canind FIre Types we move on to the Ponyta line. These guys are pretty bice though not my favorite Fire Type...

They are very Fast as Rapidash's Highest stat is Speed (105) and also have a high Attack (100) Her S-ATK and S-Defense are good (80) But her Hp (65) and Defense (70) are somewhat lackluster

Rapidash in notible for being the Kanto Pokemon Fan Club President's favorite Pokemon and will continue for awhile (And is kind enoug to give you a Bike Voucher in retern

Like all the other's the have easy orgins being based on horses. However they like Charizard have a European orgin (Greek to be exact) as they can be seen as being based on the Fiery Steeds that pulled the Sun God Helios's Sun Chariot

These guys are intersting. Though I don't know much about them as I never really used them they are good Pokemon Ugly yes... but cool. Magmortar has a BST of 540 which is excellent. His Highest Stat being S-ATK (125) and his lowest is Defense (67)

Magmar is one of two (The Other being Hitomoshi who'll be covered later) non-starter Fire Types to be part of a 3 Stage line. Magby is hatched from an Egg and evolves to Magmar at Lv:30 (Something he shares with Jynx and Electabuzz) and evolves further into Magmortar Via trade with Magmarizer

Unlike the previous Fire Pokemon his orgin is tricky... but not uber hard. He can be seen to be based on a duck and a Salamander...

Now we are to another Canid Pokemon... Flareon! One of the Orginal Eveelutions (A Fan-Name so popular it was eventually adobted by GF itself.)

He is an interesting Pokmon... His Attack is amazingly high however he doesn't get many STAB Physical Moves (Only having Fire-Fang) And for some reason he doesn't get Flare-Blitz...

Like I stated earlier his Attack is really High (130) And his S-ATK is also high (110). Like all Eevelutions his BST is 525.

He is notible for being owned by Both a Eevee Brother (Pyro) and a Kimono Girl(Miki (games) and Koume (Anime)) And is Currently the Only Fire Type not to evolve from another Fire Type Evoliving from the Normal Typed Eevee

He is based on a Fox like Ninetales but with Pomeranian touches... He like Arcanine and Ninetales evolves via Fire-Stone)

SO here we are... The Last Fire Type in Gen I Moltres the Phoenix... He and Charizard are the only Dual-typed Fire Pokemon in Gen I (Interestingly they are both Fire/Flying) He is a member of the Bird Trio ruled by Lugia (Or at least in the Anime) and has a BST of 580 the highest of all Fire Types in Gen I (Matched by Entei and surpassed by Ho-oh)

He is based on the Legenary Phoenix and posibly Suzaku the Legendary Guardian of the South or the Slavic Fire-Bird...
