So I'm watching the Buu saga of Dragon Ball Z, and Goku's first transformation into Super Saiyan 3 is, by far, the longest power up in the entire series, clocking in at 5 minutes. It's also probably the only moment where I think the English music placement is better than the original. Bruce Falconer's SS3 theme is just so awesome, and the Japanese theme that's used is boring and dull at a moment that boring and dull music should definitely NOT be used.
Sean Schemmel's (that's Goku's voice actor) might not have been the best back then, but this scream kicks all kinds of ass. The filler here's kind of ridiculous, but we do get some nice moments, such as when we see what is basically Goku's subconscious, and a rare (for this point in the story) appearance by Tenshinhan (aka Tien), and the other main characters practically peeing themselves over the fact that Goku's gained so much strength through his training in Heaven.

But yes, that's five full minutes of screaming interspersed with filler that wasn't in the original manga. Apparently, Sean Schemmel actually fainted in the recording booth after finishing it. I believe it.
And now Bulma's parents are being morons, as usual. There's a fat, pink, impossibly powerful demon coming to blow up their entire city and they're just sitting around, asking their grandson (Trunks) what the Dragon Radar (which their daughter invented TWENTY-THREE years before) is.
Back to the Japanese music.
And Goku's playing paddleball with
