Alright, so far I have watched only the first 10 episodes of Best Wishes, and for whoever has seen the last episodes of Sinnoh League Victors, that's just sad to see Ash battle.

With or without electric attacks, Trip's Snivy shouldn't have lasted more than a few minutes. Quick-attack still exists, so does Iron Tail, Tackle, and Pikachu's experience and speed.

His only feat so far is to have shot a water gun at a wall in his first gym battle, wow....that's what passes ...
