  1. I'm done!

    Finally, after 10,000 words of coursework pieces, three written essay-based exams, countless mock exams and two marked performances this academic year is pretty much done for me. I still have to go in for a few weeks in June to prepare my university applications, make a start on the second stage of these qualifications and do some research for my extended project, but technically my core academics are done until September.

    Maybe I'll finally get a good night's sleep now! Fingers crossed ...

  2. My first public performance!

    I just got home from my Drama exam. We performed a play each in two groups of seven. My group went first performing Dennis Potter's Blue Remembered Hills and we were terrified of this because not only did we have the examiner watching and marking and filming but we also had an audience of a couple hundred people (family, other students, a couple of school governors etc) and our piece had been horrible most of the time including the last dress rehearsal because half of us hadn't been in half the ...

  3. Three years and counting!

    Uwaaah, it's my third Bulbaversary today~ I can't believe it has been three years already. This year more than any other I have things to be thankful for - particularly with the friends I have made and kept. Since I became a moderator here just over six months ago I found myself with even more friends around and, four months ago now, my lovely boyfriend. The people I have met and become closer to by spending more time here and joining the staff have become like a family to me and I wouldn't trade ...

  4. monologue pls

    So my class had an exam today. The whole shebang; locked in the drama room, in costume, nobody entering or leaving, each of us going through our performances alone on stage for the examiner, a cameraman, our teacher and a director and a small audience and then waiting for said examiner to return from marking each performance in a separate room alone (the guy couldn't even speak to anyone or show any emotion beyond telling us "you may begin"; that would be the worst ever job for me).     By which I mean, I trimmed it myself, then proceeded to take my chances with a "pillarbox red" dye I have heard good things about, not really expecting it to make a dent in my dark hair.
