School has been harder than I expected this year, but I've been trying to throw myself into it and my grades for Literature especially have been really good, so I'm cautiously optimistic for my university applications. Today my best friend and I completed our first significant run: Cancer Research UK's Race for Life! It's a huge series of race-based events of either 5 or 10 kilometre lengths ran (or jogged, or walked) throughout the UK to raise money for Cancer Research, often but not always run in honour of those one knows who are fighting or were lost to cancer (as in our cases). Since we've never done any distances like this and we both have asthma and don't cope well with heat, we only took on the 5k challenge

Finally, after 10,000 words of coursework pieces, three written essay-based exams, countless mock exams and two marked performances this academic year is pretty much done for me. I still have to go in for a few weeks in June to prepare my university applications, make a start on the second stage of these qualifications and do some research for my extended project, but technically my core academics are done until September.
Maybe I'll finally get a good night's sleep now! Fingers crossed
