The Pokémon Manga...

...is, frankly, awful!
This refers to Pokémon Special/Adventures of course, the "main" manga. And...wow. How is this Pokémon, again? Seems to me that it's a preteen romance with some crime fighting and the occasional exciting battle thrown in. Seriously, the mons are as flat as a pancake. And quit having everybody falling in love, and instead focus on the fact that it's, well, Pokémon. Yeah, Sapphire...don't come crying to your girlfriends when your little fling with Ruby goes awry!
Honestly, I love the art style and have mostly found the manga useful for practicing drawing comics and cartoons, and not for actual reading. The earlier editions seem a bit less romance-focused (and I think an Arbok got cut in half, once) but otherwise, it isn't cutting it for me. It just isn't balanced. The humans get all the development and focus while the mons, the things that gave the manga its name, get pushed to the background and are no more than little fighting machines that serve as an excuse for boys and girls to go on adventures and fall in love without Mommy noticing.
These are just my opinions. While I will not apologize to those who find this unfair or offensive, as I hold as much of a right as you do, I'm not going to state this as fact, because it isn't. That is all.
