The new Ben Ten show...is kind of cool.

Watched some of it this weekend, and enjoyed it quite a bit.

The original Ben Ten was a guilty pleasure of mine, and I was a bit put-off by the two sequel series which got a bit stupid and convoluted...less focus on cool alien transformations, more focus on "teen drama", none of the fun "road-trip" feel of the original series, etc.

Omniverse pretty much fixes all of that. Every episode has multiple alien transformations, including ones from the original show, the teen drama angle is gone pretty much, and I think Rook is a fun character, and the plots seem fun again. Plus the stylized animation works a lot better, way more fluid and fun.

I like Rook but not the new art. I liked the two middle series but I did get lost. Like Generator Rex better

Completely agree. Ben's a lot like Ash Ketchum, in that he works really well when he's bouncing off a more n00bish person, taking on the role as a teacher. I follow this series every week, and I'm loving it so far.

Though I do have a few problems with it:
    1) Khyber is sort of a dumb villain. I mean, it's hard to take him seriously when he's rather repetitive, he looks bland in comparison to other villains (Though, I'm wondering if it's the new art style holding his looks back.), and the more he interacts with the heroes, the less threatening he seems to me.
    2) Too many of Ben's aliens are machine- or insect-like, in my opinion. And a few of them aren't all that interesting.

I liked Alien Force, but Ultimate Alien was "ultimately" (heh) forgettable.

I liked Alien Force the most. With the original, it's like they took 2 characters, gave them the most annoying personalities possible and ran with it. The characters in Alien Force were much more tolerable even if some of the plot points didn't really go too well with what was previously established.

I've been avoiding Omniverse recently because I found the weird new art style extremely off-putting. I figured I'd just get annoyed. Though, this blog post is making me reconsider.

I love Omniverse. It's got more humor than Alien Force or Ultimate Alien. And I really like some of the redesigns, and a lot of Ben's new transformations. And I love getting to see young Ben on a semi-regular basis. The only problem I had with it is that Julie was effectively erased, but according to Mr. Wyatt we get what happened to her. : >

I'm quite late in the uptake here, but I'd like to give my honest oppinions.

I quite liked the original tbh, like a not-so-guilty pleasure, until it took Brazil by storm and every kid from 3-11 has at least a Ben10 backpack (those are awfully common) and a piece of clothing, and liking it puts you up as a kid, it's like the new Pokémon over here, honestly. But it's still a nice little series IMHO.

I disliked the middle ones with a passion, everything from the characters, the aforementioned teen drama, the plot and mostly the action seemed very forced, bland and uninteresting, like it took all of the fun from the original and subverted it, what was the problem with the road trip aspect? And the funny meta episodes from the original, like ''Gwen 10'' were awesome, why not bring these back?

As for Omniverse, it seems better than the above sequels, although I'm not the hugest fan of Ben's eyes, the rest of the new animation seems quite cool, also, Rook[spl?] is a fun character, and has a pretty good chemistry with Ben, the villain (can't remember his name) isn't that great but at least he's still threatening.

I'll never forget my girlfriend referring to the original as Supernatural with Cousins and Aliens on drugs.
