Here are the final two members of the Five Star Points.
The Cool Five Point is Ford (Hozoku ホゾク), a cool dude dressed like a Japanese biker. His Pokemon, the evolution of Frantictoc, is quite fitting.
#582 - Canievel
Japanese Name: カンコイイ
Romanization: Kankoii
Classification: Blazing Pokemon
Type: Fire
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 117 lbs.
Etymology: The Japanese name combines "kan" from "candle" with "kakkoii", meaning cool or stylish. His English name mixes "candle" with "Knievel", the famous stunt driver since Canievel is somewhat of a daredevil himself.
Design: Its main body is a dark-red candle, except it bends in the back giving the body a slight backwards "J" shape. The top of its head is covered by hard, white wax that forms a pompadour-shaped helmet. At the tip of the helmet is a bright, asterix-shaped spark. Underneath the helmet, on the red candle part of its body, it has black holes for eyes that kind of resemble shades. Its mouth is a thin hole shaped like a snarky smile. Its arms are made of wax, scrunching up to form little shoulder pads, and its hands are shaped like gloves. It has five holes on the back of each arm that shoot out streams of fire, resembling streamers on stuntman outfits. It has a bright yellow emblem on its chest that resembles the character "大" which connects to its arms and legs. It has red legs sticking out of the candle body that have boot-shaped feet. Finally, its "tail" has two fiery spikes coming off the sides that resemble tail fins on a bike.
Origin: As the Coolness Evolution, Frantictoc went from cowardly candle to bad ass daredevil biker candle. Its design is borrowed from the Bosozoku, Japanese bikers who usually have pompadours and jumpsuits with kanji on them. It also, likes it prevolutions, resembles a candle with wax. The streamers on its arms bring to mind stunt bikers, and the curve and fire-tail of its body makes it resemble an actual bike a bit. Overall, it's kind of a quirky cool dude.
Gameplay: First off, feed a Frantictoc Pokola to max its Coolness to get a Canievel.
Canievel is extremely fast as it can fly around with the fire that shoots from its arms, and its only low status really is HP and Defensive stats complimenting its daredevil nature. Also to compliment this, it learns quite a few self-hurting moves like Explosion and the powerful STAB move Flare Blitz.
The Smart Five Point is Calvin (Jinshita ジンシタ), a brilliant young scientist. His Pokemon is one of the smartest around, the evolution of Pinocchina. Technically, him owning one isn't exactly canon since it is the player who obtains the rare Pinocchina and is capable of evolving it, so chalk this up to a similar factor of the Frontier Brains owning legendaries. None of the Five Star Points play a role in the plot in anyway.
#578 - PINOVERO
Japanese Name: ガククリ
Romanization: Gakukuri
Classification: Live Puppet Pokemon
Type: Steel
Height: 2'11"
Weight: 58 lbs.
Etymology: The English name combines the name of "Pinocchio" with "vero", which in Italian means "real". So, the real Pinocchio. The "kuri" part in its Japanese name comes from Karakuri, clockwork dolls, and it also means chestnut. The "gaku" means "learning", and also comes from Gakutensoku, the first Japanese robot who was capable of changing facial expression.
Design: First off, its head is a tea-kettle like Pinocchina's, except it is nicer looking (stainless steel now) and turned around so that the spout is in the back. There are three holes in the front that form the face. Two circles with glowing dots, its eyes, and a long oval where a smiling mouth can be seen underneath. The metallic can it was wrapped in before has been broken in half and has now uncurled, forming a little metallic cape. Its visible body is now a network of red and blue tubes that form a little body which is shaped like a simplified human body. The rusted gear that was in its back in the prevolution is now fully visible and is no longer rusted, shining a bright gold. Its arms are still metallic and connected with bolts at the elbows, but now instead of cymbal-shaped arms it has five-fingered hands made of metal, as the cymbals have split apart in five directions to form the fingers. The red and blue wires that were connected at its elbows and went up to its head have been disconnected. The red one now has straightened out into a little red arrow connected to the top of its arm, while the blue one has done a similar thing except at the end it wraps up in a circle and has begun to glow. The only part of its body that has remained unchanged from Pinocchina is its legs and feet.
Origin: Since Pinocchina was a mechanical Pokemon, I didn't want it to have a "growing" evolution, instead, it has a very mechanical evolution to it, not changing size, but simply rearranging parts of its body and gaining a new shiny coat. As the Smart Evolution, Pinovero represents the Pinocchio story. Through some unexplainable power (in-game, simply maxing out Smartness with Pokola), Pinocchina finally became a real Pokemon, although it still looks quite mechanical. The little eyes and mouth seen in its face is meant to represent the soul underneath the tea-kettle head, the eyes being barely visible in the pre-evolution hinting it always had a soul. It is also based a bit off of Gakutensoku, who has an arrow and a lamp in each hand (represented by the two wires that attach to Pinovero's arms), and was also powered by air pressure. The pumps that form the body take in air through the tea-kettle spout. This is how Pinovero breathes, and the network of tubes is meant to represent the circulatory system.
Pinovero can now think on its own and display a wide array of emotions, even more than its fellow human-made Pokemon Porygon. This surprising development has puzzled scientists, unaware of how a machine Pokemon somehow became real on its own. In addition to this, its intelligence seems to be quite amazing and it has no limit to how much it can learn.
Gameplay: Pinovero is now a real Pokemon, but it actually doesn't learn any level-up moves...however, it does have one unique advantage. Since it is still part-machine, it can learn any TM and HM in the game. Oh, and it keeps Bow, which you can make use of now.
Pinovero is a bit slow, however it has decent attack and excellent special attack to make use of its ability to learn any TM/HM. Its defensive stats are also not too shabby, although it does have HP on the low side.
Now, 25 Pokemon have been revealed! My next blog entry will have a quick recap of them all, and then I hope to create a new set of 25 including new Legendaries, the middle evolution of the starters, and some early game Pokemon.
