In a previous blog, the Five Star Points of Pokemon Star Contests were introduced, the only member being revealed was the Beauty Five Point Cyndi. Now, here are the next 2 members of the Five Star Points.

#576 - PEA-FI-FO
Japanese Name: マメジャイ
Romanization: Mamegia
Classification: Beanstalk Pokemon
Type: Grass
Height: 9'7"
Weight: 715 lbs.

Etymology: Continuing the Jack and the Beanstalk motif in names, it is "pea" mixed with Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum, the infamous words the giant said within the story. The Japanese name combines "mame", meaning bean, and "giant". There's a bit of a joke here as "mame" placed before a word usually denotes smallness, but here it's used in kind of an oxymoron sense.

Design: Its basic body is an enormous green bean, which is a bit thinner near the bottom and widens neat the top to give the appearance of muscle. On top of its over-sized body is a small circular green pea, with tiny black dots for eyes and an upside down "v" for a mouth, very similar to its prevolution. It also has a small vine popping out that curls upward once. Its arms are huge, green spheres connected to its body by thick vines. Its legs are similar, except they are more ovalish spheres. Covering up the sides of its legs on both the front and back is a little "skirt" that resembles the casing of pea pods, meant to bring to mind the ripped pants the Incredible Hulk wears.

Origin: As the Toughness Evolution, Pea-Fi-Fo is basically a steroid-fueled Jackpea, with a bit of a comedic appearance since it has such a tiny and cute looking head compared to its giant body. Basically, Jackpea was Jack, and this is the giant. So overall it's influenced by Jack and the Beanstalk, with, as mentioned before, a casing of a pea pod that is kind of meant to represent ripped pants like the Hulk wears. Where before Jackpea was a weak Pokemon who was bullied, Pea-Fi-Fo is now a colossal hero who predicts the weaker Pokemon from bullies.

Gameplay: Naturally, Jackpea evolves into Pea-Fi-Fo by maxing out its toughness through Pokola.

While Pea-Fi-Fo has low special and speed stats, it has some of the highest physical stats in the game and a large amount of HP, making it a big threat. Its move set consists of mainly hard-hitting power attacks that can take advantage of this, with not many support moves since it doesn't really fit its style.


The Cute Five Point is Minnie (Tugaru トゥガル), a young girl who dresses in a schoolgirl outfit and is a ganguro. Since she's so cute, she naturally uses the super-cute evolution of Rawdent...

#580 - MOLEVELOUS
Japanese Name: ホクロモル
Romanization: Hokuromole
Classification: Star Mole Pokemon
Type: Ground
Height: 4'9"
Weight: 88 lbs.

Etymology: The English name is simply "marvelous" with "mole" added into it...which kind of sounds like, I dunno, the northern way of pronouncing marvelous. "Hokuro" refers to a beauty mole, and then the actual word "mole" is added for the Japanese name.

Design: Molvevelous is a chubby, dark pink mole whose body resembles a normal mole, although bipedal. Its face is covered by a large yellow star, with a black dot in the middle for a nose, and two huge round blue eyes above that. Its ears are circular and roundish, looking a bit like Mickey Mouse's. Like its prevolution, it still has buckteeth, but they are a bit cuter and pop out right under the star from its mouth. It also has a patch of dirt yellow fur in the middle of its stomach that resembles a star as well. At the end of its stubby claws (hands and feet) are five yellow stars forming a star pattern, with one in the middle, two one the sides, and two on the back corners. Finally, for a tail, it has a small yellow fluffy tail that is a bit spiky and resembles a dandelion.


Origin: Basically, the ugly naked mole rat evolved into a super cute mole. This is actually based off the star-nosed mole, except much much cuter. It has a cute color scheme and a cute, chubby body giving it a real "mascot" appearance. Pretty much any trainer will find this thing lovable.

Gameplay: To evolve it, simply max out Rawdent's cuteness through Pokola.

Due to its super-cuteness, it has some kind of weird charisma that weakens the attacks of opponent's...it has an amazingly high Special Defense. The rest of its stats are all decent, except its slightly weak Physical Defense, and learns a lot of Special Attacks like Swift and Earth Power.
