It would be a crime
to kill off the apostrophe.
It's an important little mark.
Don’t you see?
We might experience fits
trying to decide if the word should be
its or it's
they're, their, or there.
But just think of the confusion
we would have
without that little mark.
We wouldn't be able to tell
cant from can’t.
And imagine how we'd feel
when we confuse well and we'll.
Now everyone should see that we do, indeed,
need the apostrophe.
